One of the oldest monuments of Belarusian stone architecture, the Trinity Church, built in 1583, has been preserved in Chernavchitsy (a village 18 km north of Brest). The temple is located in the center of the village on the bend of the Brest—Kamenets highway. Together with the tiered belfry, it forms a high-rise dominant in the low-rise buildings of the settlement. The composition of the belfry resembles that of the defensive castle tower of Nesvizh, also built at the end of the 16th century. The temple is single-nave, domeless. Artistic expressiveness is achieved by the significant volume of the building, large-scale forms with little use of architectural details. The apse and side facades are not devoid of Gothic influences, which can be seen in the massive walls with buttresses and narrow elongated windows. The steep and high gable roof is also characteristic of the constructive techniques of Gothic architecture. Rectangular and round paneled niches, thin cornices and vertical rods of the main facade, the interior arch decorated with sculptural patterned rib rods, characteristic signs in the Renaissance style. Only a few buildings of this type have been preserved in Belarus. A special feature of the temple's composition is the round tower on the southern side facade, which has defensive architecture features. Similar towers are found in other monuments of Belarusian architecture of the XV—XVII centuries. It can be assumed that the introduction of such a tower into the composition of the church in Chernavchitsy is a direct influence of local and traditional architectural and construction techniques.

A unique Gothic Radziwill church with an interesting history. A must-visit as a monument of the highest category! It can be open on weekends. As a historian, I really like it!

It is very well preserved, the Church is being monitored, and services are held regularly. If it is suddenly closed, then there is a phone number on the stand where you can call and they will open it and escort you inside.
