A very atmospheric place! I advise you to visit. You can wander around, it is located in a very picturesque place. Keep in mind that the fortress has been destroyed, that is, you come to the ruins, but this is no less interesting. It is better to read the story about the first fort in advance, it will be clearer in the place what is what.

A very interesting place for those who love History. A lot of rowan trees have grown in the cracks of the walls, there are a lot of strawberries on the slopes: it's like a memorial berry in that place.

Picturesque ruins of fortifications from the time of the 1st World War. The view is monumental , but it is difficult to understand the purpose.
In 1944, soldiers of one of the regiments of the Red Army held the defense here. An obelisk at the base of the fortifications is dedicated to their feat.
There is a country road leading to the fort. In May, we drove by minibus without any problems.

The fort itself, a pile of rubble. There's nothing to do at the top, and I don't advise you to waste your energy climbing to the top) There are faults about ten meters deep.. It's dangerous, take care of your loved ones. But it's worth stopping by, we met a herd of roe deer, it was fun to watch them, so I don't recommend speeding up after we left the road.

Yandex perfectly brings you to the exit from the highway. Then it gets stupid. And the fort is still about 5km away. We found him somehow. And the guys from St. Petersburg turned around and left for Grodno. There is little left of the fort, In 1915 the fort was blown up. We chose the place for construction very competently, the area is perfectly visible. The ruins give an idea of the fort. The moat has been preserved. The line of trenches in front of the moat has been preserved. You can climb inside the fort at your own risk. Inside, carefully, there is an unfenced elevator shaft, 10 meters high, in short, deep... In front of the fort there is a memorial in memory of the soldiers of the Soviet army who died in 1944.
