A beautiful place, the business card of Kusadasi. Definitely worth a visit, however, a paid entrance has been introduced since October 2024. Only residents of the city who have an Adalicard can visit for free. There is a small museum inside. During the summer season, the municipal Arya cafe and a small beach are open at the entrance.

The fortress on Pigeon Island is an interesting fragment of the Genoese-Ottoman history. The fortress acquired its current form in the 16th century, when the construction of the citadel was completed in the fortress by the Ottoman Admiral Hayreddin Barbarossa. Probably, it was in memory of this event that a monument to the red-bearded admiral was erected in the fortress...

The fortress is a new model, but it stands on an old foundation. In the shady alley of the fortress, you can relax from the scorching heat and enjoy the seascape. No museums or cultural objects were noticed, a typical tourist attraction for Turkey.
