But... everything else leaves much to be desired! A huge hotel, and the dining room is located on the top floor (!), two elevators at all - it's just a disaster! The queue near the elevators is huge - someone is going to the room, and someone needs to go up to the dining room! This is another test!
The buffet is completely unsanitary! Nothing is organized for the convenience of vacationers!
Room service is just a name! Towels do not change throughout the rest, there is dust in the rooms, dirt in the bathroom!
There are staff at the reception desk who are generally incompetent! He can't really answer any of the questions!

I've vacationed a lot in my 66 years. And everywhere and always there were disadvantages. Maybe you don't need to look for them on vacation? Well, we tuned in to rest and positive emotions, so we don't care about cleaning, a towel, a cramped room. We lived in the same conditions, but we didn't find fault with anything. The towel was washed and the floor was wiped, it takes 5 minutes. The main thing is that we came to the sea! And the sea in Abkhazia is incomparable. There are sun beds, the views are beautiful, the food is great. Is the hotel noisy? And where is it not noisy on vacation? People are resting. But the Embankment is very beautiful and fun. This year we had a rest where there is no embankment and cheerful cafes, it was very boring. Rotovirus? Tell me, where is he not? In Turkey and Egypt, they were very seriously ill with this virus, but in Abkhazia they did without it. They observed basic hygiene, did not swim in the pool, did not drink water from the sea. Hello everyone I live and work in Abkhazia, I am a very frequent guest at the hotel-I check in and live myself! I'll tell you everything about all the numbers. The suite is spacious, with a good shower, bathrobes and a towel are available, a balcony in the water park. Junior Suite is my favorite, you will occupy a corner with a view of the sea and the city and a shared balcony all yours, a table and chairs on the balcony, bathrobes, a towel, a pleasant cozy room! The standards are all good, the minus is very soft mattresses, but I like everything, the dressing gowns are no longer included, there are disposable shampoos and gels! Economy - comfortable mattresses... and that's it, very very small rooms, one will be fine. Houses, there are seven of them, in summer it's great together, a small one with a comfortable mattress, chairs and a table on the porch, bathrobes and shampoos like in a suite!
Meals three times a day: delicious, enough, always full, chicken with mushrooms in cream and pie slices in the morning is a delight, they always put our Abkhazian lemon, where everything is for tea! The administrator of the hall is wonderful, remembers everyone and makes jokes and prompts! Soups are always delicious! Cucumbers tomatoes daily! The location is simply the most top-end, the center and the beginning of the embankment, next to the entertainment cafe zhemchuzhina and the round-the-clock kebab house, where our coffee is only 50 rubles, served with water! The pool is poorly heated in winter. And there is a minus of the hotel- it is an elevator, but there is for the staff on the other hand, you can use it. I love this hotel. Not five stars and there are unpleasant moments- smeared mosquitoes, windows are not washed (ask to be washed, otherwise why the panoramic sea view), curtains and tulle are stained, especially in economy rooms. But the location and security! The parking is guarded! Write and call, I will check in and help with all the rest in my beloved Apsny! The curtains, which are always brushed, are also never washed. It was good that it was hot and we didn't need a blanket, it was stained yellow. The food is so-so, although varied. Fruits - apples, peaches - are always cut and dried. There were plums, figs - absolutely not juicy, not sweet and did not look very appetizing. But the watermelon was sweet, sugary, but rare. Tomatoes are plastic, like from the Pyaterochka supermarket. I couldn't add salt to the vegetables, but all because there were open salt shakers on the tables, from which salt could only be reached with my fingers. Rotavirus, of course, was caught, medicines did not help the child, they turned to the hotel nurse. Despite the insurance, 1.5 rubles were paid for the system. But she was only a temporary relief. After I gave the child Rehydration, he immediately put him on his feet. The elevators did not bother at first, they were understood to the 7th floor without problems, but after rotavirus, shortness of breath appeared, it became difficult to climb.I do not recommend the hotel, since such a vacation is not a vacation, 4 out of 7 days are lying down. The reason for rotavirus is bad, or rather no cleaning, washing dishes, tables, and perhaps something in the kitchen. The room is standard. The view from the loggia is beautiful: the mountains on one side, the sea on the other. There were some inconveniences with the elevator, but the second elevator was repaired and it became normal. The food was very tasty. We were pleased with the menu, a variety of drinks, first and second courses, vegetables and fruits every day, fresh pastries, the staff is polite. There is a heated swimming pool on site. We had a family vacation at the end of July 2024. The location of the hotel is great, and that's it. We took a suite, dirt-colored bed linen, mattresses and pillows, as if you were sleeping on the floor. The staff is not friendly! In the dining room, a female employee was constantly walking around shouting at children and adults, don't stand there, don't go there, don't put it here ((( the pool outside was so chlorinated that it hurt our eyes, we only swam in the sea. There were not enough sun beds, many left towels and left for the whole day. And the cherry on the cake was the day of the eviction: the night before, the child caught the rotovirus and vomited on the sheet and duvet cover, and in the morning, during the eviction, they asked us to pay 3,500rubles for damage to property!!! People for what? Damage to property? What kind of excuse me??? Old grey linen that can be washed in a laundress in a minute ???!!!! Generally terrible!!!! I think we need to review the service and replace the disgruntled and angry staff!!!

A great hotel for a solid four. For Abkhazia, it's generally SUPER 👍I rented a junior suite..of course there are minor flaws, but...gorgeous sea views, pleasant staff, as well as nature and weather, smoothed out all the shortcomings. The food is a buffet, it would be possible to diversify, but in general it is fine. For lovers of gourmet dishes, there are many cafes and restaurants with excellent service. Also, the market is within walking distance.
I rested for the first time and was a little doubtful whether it was worth it or not?!..Because I've heard a lot of negative things...But I didn't regret it..🌴👍And those who write a lot of negativity...they probably judge by themselves😊 It's not for nothing that they say - "WHAT YOU RADIATE, YOU GET!!!"

We visited the Grand Hotel Abkhazia on New Year's Eve. I got 3 stars out of all my impressions! This "hotel" is located in the city of Gagra, as I noted earlier, the word hotel is very loudly said ...
Of the + very friendly staff, the girls at the reception were smiling, the guy at the bar was as courteous as possible. There are sofas and armchairs for waiting in the lobby of the hotel, as well as a billiard area and a relaxation area near the bar. Everything looked nice and cute. From the windows of the rooms, you can see the sea and the embankment from either side, as the hotel is on the first line. There is a warm swimming pool on site. There is also a dining room, you can buy an entrance at the reception (they bought 400 rubles for breakfast), the food is delicious, the buffet system. The room has a large double bed, mini fridge, bedside table, wardrobe (with hangers), shower room.
Because of why it's not a hotel, you can't walk around the hotel in swimsuits, and it's kind of OK, it's a normal requirement, but to get to the pool, you need to take the elevator down to the common hall and walk down the street for about 12-15 meters. They did not provide dressing gowns in the room, I had to go to the reception to ask, since it was impossible to get through on the internal phone. There are only 2 elevators for the entire hotel, for a moment the hotel has 13 residential floors and approximately 25 rooms per floor, the 14th floor is closed, but most likely this is the kitchen, and the 15th floor is the dining room. It took a lot of time to get into the elevator, that is, when they were evicted and had to go down from the 11th floor with their suitcases, they had to wait more than 20 minutes for the elevator to have a minimum of passengers in it. Although the food in the dining room was delicious, the buffet was meager (maybe lunch and dinner were different, of course). In the 3 days that we went to breakfast, none of the dishes changed, the location of the dishes themselves was very strange, there was little space, people walked back and forth in an unorganized manner, bumping into each other. From the breakfast itself, you could choose 2 types of porridge, cottage cheese, chicken broth with chicken pieces, pancakes with meat, just pancakes, vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, chopped lettuce leaves), omelette, boiled eggs, pasta and boiled sausages. And probably everything would have been fine, but the cleanliness in the shower of the room became a trigger, all the towels except one went to cover the dirty tiles. It was impossible to change the room, since this is NG and the hotel is packed to capacity, slippers were not provided in the room, but those that could be obtained should not be wetted... And the last straw was that the hotel does not have the opportunity to pay with a card (payment by phone or watch is not provided at all).

We had a rest from October 14th to 20th. This is not the first time in this hotel. The room is standard.
All standards, suites - view of the water park, economy and junior suites - view of the Ferris wheel.
Pros: the location is excellent, the view of the sea, the mountains from any side. Near the entire infrastructure, there are cafes, canteens. In case of a power outage, the hotel has a generator, you will not sit without light. The heated pool, oddly enough, was warm this time. Standard rooms, junior suites, suites differ only in size, there are also bathrobes in the junior suite, do not expect big buns. The junior suite has a cool balcony. The economy rooms are very small, two people cannot turn around.
The dining room is now on the 15th floor. We had breakfast, I have no complaints about them, but this is my subjective opinion.
Elevator 2. Slow. They can't cope with the number of tourists, especially during meal hours. Be prepared to walk.
Cons: at the reception, the girls - well, like princesses- are not laughing, they talk through their teeth, at least they talk at all. Dear management, work with your subordinates! The Internet does not pull, especially in the evening. But if you compare it with previous years, it got better.
There is a very high concentration of chlorine in the pool, this is the first time I have seen this in general and here in particular. Do you even take water for analysis for chlorine content? You're going to waste people.
There are a lot of small joints: a loose toilet lid, a cable coming off the TV, battered towels.
We have never been to a hotel with a full load before and it seems that the hotel simply cannot cope with so many guests or does not want to cope. A lot is being done on departure.
I put 4 stars only for taking into account the wishes in the room on the upper floors and gave the promised 10% discount as a regular customer.

The elevators are small, but this is a hotel of the Soviet Union, we make a discount. In general, if you go for the sun and the sea, this is the right place. But..... I took off a star for the attitude towards the guests at the reception. We checked into the room, but instead of two beds there was one double bed. We rested a little and went down to the reception, asked if we could be moved to a room with two beds, but the girl (light, with a square, I don't remember the name) answered quite sharply that we did not go down immediately and therefore nothing would be changed for us. Then, when it was time to check out, we came in advance (in the evening) and asked to extend our stay, if possible, in the same room, so as not to walk with suitcases, to which we were told to wait! After waiting for about 15 minutes, we came up again, the girl (the same one) She said, "Wait, I heard you!" The tone was irritated! It's unpleasant!

We rested from 07.09. to 17.09.2024. Economy room. The hotel is the bottom. I put an extra star for the excellent weather, which does not apply to the hotel, but still. The most important problem of the hotel is the elevator!!!! We were lucky that we were not very high up, only the 4th floor. Those who lived above were less fortunate. The kitchen is monotonous. We did not stay hungry, but by the tenth day we were tired of the same menu, the choice was not great. The room (economy) is super small. I just walked in and went straight to bed. You can't break up together. Cleaning (garbage removal) every day. Toilet paper is brought regularly, by the end of the rest a whole package has accumulated. I had to work hard with a change of towels. As a result, they were changed before our departure.

Two elevators that do not work all the time and lift only 4 people each! But what about children and the elderly, who have trouble walking to the 2nd floor!!! Everyone takes it out on the restaurant administrator, who is not to blame for anything and tries very hard to please everyone - this is the only sunshine among the hotel staff. The safe did not work, although we came to the reception 4 times, but alas!!!! The TV was not showing channels, it was working from a poorly functioning Internet! We tried to set it up almost every day, but no one came! The receptionists at the reception are very rude and indifferent, and this is the face of the hotel. We arrived yesterday from a vacation in this hotel. I liked the rest. For such a price, I did not expect such a territory, food, service on the first coast, but I decided to take a chance. After reading the reviews, I was not surprised at anything, since I have been to many places in Abkhazia, Turkey, Russia, Egypt, Thailand and their hotels and service cannot be compared to other countries, only Abkhazia. And for a vacation in this country, it pulls in 4 (not a world ranking). The rooms are equipped with everything you need, the first coastal, convenient location in Novaya Gagra, a warm swimming pool (in November it was +32), full board (there are no frills, but everything is simple and delicious, (you will not stay hungry), a beautiful well-groomed territory with a playground, hammocks, tangerine gazebos, roses, lawns, beautiful tiles on the territory. The staff is mostly friendly (girls at the reception, boys in the dining room, but the older one in the dining room is rude, even in a non-her territory). The foyer is beautifully made, comfortable furniture. There are many cafes nearby even in winter, I liked the "Pearl" a stone's throw from the hotel. There are no free bathrobes, take your own, because when it's November and you leave the pool, it's cool, but you still have to queue for the elevator for 20 minutes. There will always be queues for elevators, because there is one for 300 rooms, even some use the service one and there is a queue there and there... According to cleanliness 3, white is not white, cleaning is just taking out the garbage and sometimes vacuuming.
I was going to get a thrill from the sea and the nature of Abkhazia, go for a ride, take a walk in the tangerine garden and have a place to spend the night and eat, and not consider the shoals of the hotel for 4,300 rubles a day according to the full board system. On the contrary, I was even surprised, because next to me I was in a newer hotel, a straight common fence with this for 22600 days, but I did not feel a big difference in my vacation (modern rooms, snow-white bathrobes, a more expanded range of food did not affect my impression of the sea and travel in any way). We rested at the hotel in October 2023. We liked the hotel. It is located on the 1st coastline. Excellent location near a water park, children's attractions, a lot of cafes (for every taste). We had an economy room. The room is super small, we ate together, but it didn't stop us from resting. The room has everything you need for living: a bed, a wardrobe, a TV, a mini fridge, a clothes dryer and even had a heater. In the bathroom there were 2 sets of towels, shampoo, shower gel, hair dryer. But the most important thing is that the room has a large balcony with a gorgeous view of the sea. When booking, we only took breakfast. But in the cafe it was possible to pay for lunches and dinners when visiting, lunch cost 550 rubles. dinner 450 rubles. We liked the breakfasts, there were always 2 porridges, scrambled eggs, dumplings, vegetables, sausage, cheese, pancakes, pancakes, tea, coffee, etc. We were at lunch several times. The dinners are also quite good. 2 types of soup, salads, vegetables, several side dishes, fish, meat, chicken. The hotel has a small swimming pool with warm water and a beautiful territory. If we are still going to rest in Gagra, then we will definitely consider this hotel for our rest.

We stayed at this hotel in December 2024. We lived in a standard room, the furnishings of which were quite modest. There was a carpet on the floor, which seems to date back to the Soviet Union.
The room had a refrigerator, air conditioning and a TV, everything was working properly. However, due to problems with electricity, the outdoor pool was not functioning.
There were also difficulties with elevators: there were only two elevators on 15 floors. That's why we preferred to walk than wait for the elevator.
As for the food, we didn't have any problems here. The staff tried very hard, given the lack of electricity. The food was varied and delicious, we thank them for that.
The hotel is located on the first line, and the sea is only a two-minute walk away. In the current situation, the staff did everything possible to make the tourists happy with their vacation. We want to express our gratitude to them.
