Here Jesus Christ fell for the first time under the weight of the cross.
In 1856, the Armenian church acquired land on this site and built a chapel, which was rebuilt during the Second World War with donations from Polish soldiers.Above the entrance to the chapel there is a bas-relief by T. Zelinsky, telling about the fall of Jesus under the cross.
The chapel has a small museum with artifacts from the period of the Second Temple.
