One of the iconic buildings of the historical center of Minsk. I associate the Main Post Office with the Musee d'orsay in Paris. I get great aesthetic pleasure from visiting the central hall, the hall with souvenirs and the post office from Sverdlov Street. I hope the coffee shop will reopen at the entrance.

I lived in Minsk and only now I have corrected myself and went inside thanks to an online quest-guided tours from my phone)
I took a quest tour on whatiftour com (Secrets of Skaryna: The search for unique UNESCO houses on Independence Avenue) and finally visited the main post office. Inside, you can examine the stained glass windows, the chandelier also attracted attention and drew attention to some elements thanks to the quest.
I also went to the "boutique" for philatelists for the sake of interest, it was interesting to look at the stamps issued by year.
I recommend you to visit for a variety of walking experience in Minsk.

The person in the postcard department is not a pleasant person, not polite.
And for some reason, all ballpoint pens in the department write very poorly or do not write at all.

It is very interesting done inside the building, the post office operators take in the windows on the edge, the waiting area is in the center. A round room with massive columns, huge stained glass windows on the windows, and a row of windows on top, stucco molding on the ceiling and a chandelier from the USSR, which gives a kind of charm. It is very bright in the room, due to the numerous windows. In the middle there is a clock, a scoreboard with the queue number, semicircular benches. The flooring I think is also built in the years, but it is well preserved, maybe after restoration.

Outside, it is still under restoration (June 2023), and inside it is already in perfect, a la pristine condition, although everything around smells of repair, but it fully functions as a post office. We were able to buy and send a postcard to Moscow on Saturday evening. Very friendly staff, no queues, beautiful, breathtaking. I experienced something similar about 10 years ago, when I first moved into the hotel Ukraine, which was still only open after restoration.
