Impressions of Migros, the Turkish retail giant
I recently wandered into one of the most popular Turkish supermarkets Migros, and I hasten to share my impressions!
The first thing that catches your eye is the scale. The store is just huge, with a huge flow of customers. It is not difficult to find the right position due to the convenient navigation and thoughtful display of goods.
The range is impressive: from basic products to delicacies and souvenirs. I was especially pleased with the sweets section - the eyes run away from the variety!
The prices are quite reasonable, especially when compared with tourist shops. Many tourists come here specifically for gifts - you can find high-quality goods at reasonable prices.
Among the features: all prices are indicated in lira, cards are accepted for payment (although there are technical failures), there is a loyalty program.
What can be confusing:
● There are huge queues during rush hours
● Sometimes there are not very friendly staff
● The trading floor can be cramped
● There are no manufacturing dates on some products
Verdict: a great store for those who want to shop seriously. I recommend planning a hike during off-peak hours to avoid crowds and queues.
