That's something!!! I really liked it! Such beauty is untouched.... concrete seems to be, but ... the temple has not been destroyed for 10 centuries, it has been preserved. I really liked the sermon of the priest- simply and clearly, as in terms of concepts)). The atmosphere cannot be conveyed. The child confessed and received communion. Confession in the cell of the Virgin, where they say she prayed. There is a well on the street, which is more than 200 years old with a copper bowl and frescoes. After the service, the priest invited all the parishioners outside for a morning meal. So all this is not usual for residents of big cities... Whoever gets to this region of Abkhazia must be Orthodox to visit! Rate it.

Very beautiful. For the untrained, there is everything you need. Shawls for the head, capes for the feet.. I don't know what they are exactly called, quarrel. The male sex in shorts should also cover their legs! I didn't know about it, so I didn't put it on. Then the employee ran after me with this cape.. It was very awkward. Soooo. I am not a believer, but I really love everything ancient. It was very interesting. The murals on the walls, the icons are old. Even bats were seen on the second floor)) The building is very old, the walls are thick. The architecture is fascinating. The most important thing when you go there is not to forget about pigs on the roads and cows))

The temple has survived to this day in a surprisingly good condition. Perhaps this is a consequence of the repair of the middle of the XIX century. and another repair of the Soviet era. The 1993 war bypassed it, and since this area is inhabited by Abkhazians, the post-war looters did not appear here either. The cathedral is not located in the village itself, but on its eastern outskirts, across the Mokva River. An ancient temple in Eastern Abkhazia. Beautiful, majestic, colorful, it fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape. The cathedral has excellent acoustics, its decorations are ancient frescoes and icons. In one of the side chapels there is a tomb of members of the princely family.
A visit to this cathedral is included in the program called "To the holy places of Eastern Abkhazia". If you are in Apsny, set aside one day for this wonderful trip.
One of the few temples where it was easy for me to pray. The presence of God is so clearly felt here. Unfortunately, church services are rarely held. But from time to time, the priests come and serve prayers. The caretaker of the temple lives nearby. When visiting this place in small groups or individual travelers, you should contact him.
