Stay for one or two nights to get closer to Taksim and beyond. There is a tram stop nearby, 15 minutes to the historical center. And in 5 minutes Kabatash funicular - 5 minutes and you are at Taksim Square. You calmly descend from the mountain along Istiklal, for example, and get to the room on the T1 tram.
By the way, the rooms are tired, very damp and with smells, the walls are thin. If you come across a noisy neighborhood, you will be left alone with your problem, although the reception is Soviet and speaks bad Turkish or bad English (French Africans)

I strongly advise against this hotel: dirty, stuffy, black mold in the bathroom and rusty plumbing
The walls are thin, and you can hear everything the person behind the wall says.
The advantages of a good location and understanding service (they understand, but they can't do anything) don't fix the situation.

Great location! Nearby there is a Taxi Cabotage, galataport, cafe. The Windows overlook the courtyard, not the road, which contributes to a sound sleep). The air conditioner is not noisy. I definitely recommend the hotel!
