The museum is great. There is no need to even talk about the uniqueness of the creation of the museum and the artistic value of the exhibits presented, I know everything about it. I will note some details for those who plan to visit. The entrance for citizens of Uzbekistan is 19,000 soums, water cannot be carried, you can take pictures, the staff is polite, well-lit halls, there is a place to sit down to relax, there are stands with information about the life of the artists represented.

An amazing collection of Russian artists who have been banned. Savitsky managed to collect the collection only due to the fact that the museum was located at the edge of the world. This museum is called the Louvre in the Desert. It's true, you have to drive through the desert. Only 2% of the available funds are exposed. Because of the lack of space. Unfortunately. But even from what you can see, it blows the roof off

The stunning museum in Nukus (Uzbekistan) is a must-visit, a wonderful collection of Russian avant-garde can be freely spent for several hours or more.

This is a pearl among the sands.....
The founder of the museum, I.V.Savitsky, once dreamed that people would come from France to visit the museum....
The collection has up to 100,000 exhibits, consisting of three departments; archeology is the art of ancient and medieval Khorezm, fine art is the Russian avant-garde of the 1920s and 30s.. (the second collection in the world after the Russian Museum), Uzbek (A.Volkov, P.Benkov, N.Kashina, U.Tansykbayev, etc.) and Karakalpak (relatively modern) schools of fine arts and the department of folk applied arts of Karakalpakstan (embroidery, carpet weaving, jewelry)
It is definitely worth visiting the museum, since you are already in Nukus))

A magnificent museum.
An excellent collection of Russian avant-garde, social realism and local paintings.
These styles are intricately intertwined in the paintings.
In addition, artifacts of antiquity are presented - the Zaroastrian time.
Exactly one of the places on the must see list

The exhibits are interesting. But one thing confused me, the museum is closing for lunch. There are visitors waiting outside, a lot of tourists. You can't do this lunch in shifts somehow. The famous museum is one of the main attractions of Karakalpakstan, and there is such a setup. By the way, we visited on World Museum Day, when admission is free, but when we were already leaving the museum, I noticed that the staff sent a foreigner to the ticket office to pay for the entrance. Something is not clear.

A wonderful collection, an interestingly designed exposition. A modern museum building. We drove here for three hours from Khiva through the desert specifically to see this museum. They didn't regret it! According to a museum employee, only about 20% of the fund is on display. Of the three buildings, one is open today (September 2023). The middle building is the storerooms, the second exhibition building has been under repair for two years. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates fine art or is interested in the history of Central Asia of the Soviet period (which, according to impressions from visiting other museums and monuments of Uzbekistan, as if it did not exist).

A wonderful museum. All tourists while in Nukus visit it, so it is mandatory to visit. The only thing is that there are not so many paintings

There are very, very many original pictures, portraits. The guides explain each one in an interesting way and with facts. It's impossible to watch everything in a day. It takes at least 3 days.

It's a good museum, there's a lot to see. But there is a minus that a lot of works are in the storerooms (we were able to get acquainted with them only on the presentation screen in the hall, but we would like to enjoy them live)

An amazing museum gallery! I did not encounter any disadvantages. A collection of paintings, museum exhibits... for me, it was worth it to visit Nukus for one day, on my trip to Uzbekistan.

After spending more than two hours at the Savitsky Museum, I realized that one day is not enough to fully immerse myself in this atmosphere. I was particularly impressed by the collection of Karakalpak art. Bright colors and unusual ornaments create a unique flavor. If you plan to visit Nukus, be sure to include the museum in your itinerary!

The museum itself is wonderful! I try to travel once a year to get acquainted with new exhibitions and update my impressions of the permanent exhibition. This time I didn't like the guide. Superficial knowledge, no logic. It's strange to meet such a thing in a world-class museum. It looks like we won't take any more guides...We will study the material ourselves before the trip.
