Judging by the photos before the trip, the church deserves attention, but despite the Sabbath day, the church was closed. There are a lot of night bars around the church and drunken young people are walking around the square all night until 8 a.m.))) By the way, there is an outdoor toilet next to the church and the bus stop. It's certainly specific, but it's common near churches in Belgium. There is a Friday Square next to the church. The square is pretty and old. Since the 12th century, a fair has been held here on Fridays and Saturdays. Executions and folk festivals took place here.On the square stands a magnificent monument to Jacob van Artevelde, the "sage of Ghent", an outstanding Flemish politician who led the 1337 uprising.
