Traveling through Blue-eyed, we stopped in the wonderful town of Pinsk. The old part of it is quite compact, so it is simply impossible to pass by the Polesie Museum. Moreover, it is located in the building of the Jesuit Collegium, and this is the 17th century for a moment! On the threshold you will most likely be greeted by the museum cat Barsik, greetings from the St. Petersburg Hermitage)). Just 5 rubles (cash) and you are in the oldest museum in Belarus, which turned 100 years old in 2024. The collection is interesting: paintings, including Shishkin and Aivazovsky, wonderful stuffed animals, folk costumes, crafts. And what a wooden bike there is! In fact, there are many exhibits, and there are some very interesting ones. And the building itself, with its high ceilings, echoing corridors, and creaking floorboards, adds to the entourage!

The fact that the museum is located in the building of the former Jesuit collegium (17th century), and it itself marked the centenary of its creation, immediately makes it clear that we are dealing with a very serious, truly historical place. And this feeling does not deceive: in all the halls, you watch and get into the history of Pinshchina in particular and Polesie in general. A variety of interesting exhibits, including ancient mammoth bones, a lot of documents and photographs from different eras immerse you in almost all known periods of local life. We should also say kind words about the rich exposition of Polessky nature. In general, an hour and a half of even an independent guided tour here flew by unnoticed and interesting. Must-visit :)

The Museum of the Belarusian Polesie in Pinsk is a unique space where the original world of the region comes to life in the atmosphere of the Jesuit collegium of the 17th century: vaulted ceilings and historical interiors encourage immersion in the past; among the outstanding exhibits is a 12th-century sarcophagus made of pink slate found in Turov, as well as the rarest hanging seal of Prince Izyaslav Yaroslavich of the 11th century (suspended from a document on a cord to confirm authenticity), confirming the close ties of Polesie with Kievan Rus; the art collection contains authentic paintings by Shishkin and Aivazovsky, which makes the museum an exceptional phenomenon at the regional level.

It's a good museum. A good collection of paintings. There is Aivazovsky and Shishkin and many others. Only we were told so little about the nature of Polesie, but we really wanted to know. 🙂 We definitely recommend it

It is a very interesting museum, especially considering that it is not even located in the regional city. Quite voluminous expositions, I really liked the small exhibitions of contemporary artists. In the painting hall there are works by Shishkin and Aivazovsky, many landscapes, there is a hall with stuffed animals. The museum itself is located on the riverbank, next to the River Station and pedestrian street. I recommend you to visit

A wonderful museum! The richest exposition) has a lot of objects that allow visitors to imagine Polesie in different eras - from antiquity to the middle of the 20th century. Our acquaintance with this museum began with Barsik, the sweet curator of the museum. Unfortunately, we didn't get on the tour.

The museum is located in the ancient building of the Jesuit Collegium, which is already very interesting, as you can not only view the exhibition, but also get acquainted with the architecture of the building. The exposition is quite diverse - everyday life, history, a bit of nature, a good collection of paintings. People traveling to Polesie for the first time will definitely be interested, and those who are well acquainted with this region will not get bored either, especially if you use the services of a guide when visiting the museum.

A great museum right in the city center. There are many halls with different exhibits:paintings, household items and stuffed animals. The ticket price for an adult is 4 rubles, but there is something to see and you can definitely wander for an hour :)

The museum building is simply outstanding, the exposition is worthy! Special thanks to the guides. One thing was saddening-the apparent lack of decent funding. I would like the city authorities to show interest and turn this museum into a real pearl of Polesie.

In the museum you can see objects related to the history of Pinsk and Belarus, for example, various interior items, textbooks from the beginning of the XX century and, of course, a bicycle made of wood. The building of the Jesuit collegium itself is a plus to the exposition, it is pleasant to be in it, you can feel the history (and in summer, in the heat, it is also pleasantly cool). An interesting story by the guide. You can improve the condition of the interior decoration, it looks a little tired, as if from Soviet times. I recommend you to visit to immerse yourself in the history of Polesie.

It's a very good museum for a regional city. There are paintings (even by Shishkin and Aivazovsky), stuffed animals and birds, and, of course, historical exhibits related to Polesie!

I really liked it. We went in with my son (7 years old). There is a lot of excitement and positive emotions from the painting, woodcarving of our compatriots, immersion in the atmosphere of that era. The employees were pleased to tell about the birds and animals represented in the exhibitions. Time flies by unnoticeably. We will definitely come back. The visit is very cheap. I heartily recommend it! You'll like it.

The museum is located in the city center. There is a clothes rack on the ground floor. There is also a cash register with a souvenir point of sale (magnets). The main exhibition is located on the second floor, in several halls. They go in time order. On the second floor, you can visit the restrooms. I really liked the guide, a young guy, who told me a lot without overloading the information.

An excellent museum, many exhibits, paintings, antique utensils, souvenirs. There is a parking lot nearby, but it may be occupied. There is a terminal at the checkout .The staff is polite and helpful. The guide is very cool, young and very erudite! The tour is fun and interesting, it does not load dates, it hammers everything on the case. Clever girl!

We were on an excursion of the ship "Belaya Rus". The museum is of a very high level, there are many very interesting rarities from various periods of the centuries-old history of the Belarusian people. There is an art gallery, works by Shishkin, Aivazovsky, and Belarusian artists. The girl guides are great fellows. Thanks

The dilapidated exposition of the Soviet times. Noteworthy are: an exposition of ancient life with original furniture and dishes, an exposition of Russian paintings of the last century and the century before last (if only they had done normal lighting, without glare on the canvases), photographs of old Pinsk on a poster stand (in the corner of the corridor without light and normal access). The rest is about nothing. It doesn't catch on. The excursion through the basements is just creepy. Two rooms with pipes and cables. Nothing original - an analogue of the basement of an ordinary Khrushchev. Even the dirt on the walls was not removed. It's a shame to take money from tourists for this. Go to the 5th fort of the Brest Fortress and feel the difference. Disappointed.

There was an hour left before closing, and I had to leave in the morning, thank you, I was accepted for a tour. The exposition is impressive. The history of the city is serious. But I would like to hear more information and answers to some questions about the city. Everything is fine with the consecration of the exposition, but it didn't go any deeper.

The museum is located in a 17th-century building - the former Jesuit collegium. It is one of the oldest museums in Belarus. It was opened on July 1, 1926. I would like to express my gratitude to the museum staff, to everyone who created wonderful exhibitions, collected materials about various periods of the Belarusian Polesie. Paintings by famous artists, including the originals of Aivazovsky, Makovsky, Pan and others, are also widely presented here. I recommend you to visit - it is interesting and informative. p.s. Two remarks: 1. In the hall "Nature of Polesie", it is very difficult to read the explanatory information on the signs - the text actually merges with the background; 2. It is surprising that in a public institution it is impossible to pay for the service with a bank card - only cash is accepted.

An ordinary small-town museum. Not too big. Everything is a bit messy. Everything is very politicized. The guide talked for a very long time about the Second World War, focusing on the atrocities of the fascists, but for some reason she did not mention the Stalinist repressions, dekulakization and the restoration of Kalinovsky in 1863. I pretended like it never happened. In general, the history of the region was selectively covered.

Just as a theater starts with a hanger, a museum starts with a cash register that accepts only cash! And this is in the age of total digitalization! Of course, this circumstance only causes misunderstanding, and the ticket price is 5 rubles (very little). It doesn't matter anymore! The overall impressions of the museum are extremely negative! Considering how much attention is paid in Belarus to the development of museums and the preservation of historical heritage, everything is bad with this museum! The exposition itself is quite interesting, but the way the museum exhibits are presented, the degree of their preservation, the display cases and more .... It's terrible! A month has passed since visiting the museum, but I would not have been able to understand, accept and justify such a state of the museum of Belarusian art!

Museum.. Well, a museum is like a museum. In fact, everything is the same as in any local history museum in any post-Soviet city. It's a mess of everything. Everything is in the old creaking expositions. I didn't like how the employee kicked out an obviously museum cat with a broom. And one of the good things was a pleasant lady, whose comments about animals and birds greatly complemented the exposition of the nature of Polesie. But in general, what kind of Polesie is this, how it differs from other regions of the Republic of Belarus - the museum does not answer the question.

Located in the building of the Jesuit Collegium built in the 11th century, the vaulted corridors have been preserved, which is very atmospheric. The exposition is rich and reflects the history of the Belarusian Polesie and the city of Pinsk. There is an art gallery, which is an exception for a museum of this level. The guide is erudite, the material is presented in an accessible and interesting way. I recommend visiting while in Pinsk.

The museum is definitely great. There are originals of Aivazovsky and Shishkin (if you are interested in painting). Departments: everyday life, history, nature in different periods of time (household items, weapons of wars, excavations). There is something to see. The main thing is to hire an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, so that she does not chatter according to the methodology and for an additional one. I could answer the questions. The price is 4 rubles per person. 15 rubles for the guide. October 2023.

It's a good museum, but there are a couple of drawbacks: the floors on the second floor creak terribly, and the staff in some rooms is not very friendly. And one more thing: for me, it's better to take a guide to understand everything, since the location of the exposition in the halls is somewhat chaotic in my opinion, there is no sequence of events. In general, the museum is worth a visit if you are in Pinsk.

I love this museum with all my heart, with an amazing centuries-old history and some unique exhibits! But I really want some variety, except for the expositions that already exist and have existed for decades.... A huge number of equally interesting exhibits are in the storerooms. How long will they stay there? Maybe it's time to show them at some thematic exhibition instead of some regular uncomplicated shows for children and exhibitions with dinosaurs? I'll bet two, for growth
