Konya Mevlana Museum 09/05/2025g• For two The museum contains the legacy of J. R.R. Tolkien himself. Rumi, as well as household items of the Mevlevi order, the spiritual progenitor of which is Mevlana (pronounced that way in Turkish). Books, household items, clothes, musical instruments... In addition, the most influential representatives of the order, and, in fact, Jalaladdin Rumi himself, are buried in the mosque on the territory of the museum. The burial site is a place of pilgrimage for Muslims, and Mevlana's grave is always crowded. It is better to come to the opening so that everything can be viewed calmly. From about 11-12 o'clock, not only Muslims are pulling up, but also tourist groups.

We liked the Mevlana Museum. Admission is free, but the audio guide costs 90 lira + a deposit (passport or driver's license). The museum itself is located in the center of the complex, surrounded by tombstones, which can also be viewed. There are three tombs of famous Turkish figures on the territory, and servants' cells around the perimeter (the audio guide tells about them, but very briefly). There were no queues inside the museum, despite the large number of visitors. Shoe covers are provided at the entrance. The museum houses the tombs of various figures, mentors, sultans and other dignitaries. In general, the museum is interesting to visit in order to get acquainted with one of the iconic places in Turkey and touch the history.

It's a beautiful place! Magnificent ceiling and wall paintings, the most ancient manuscripts, the opportunity to find yourself in the distant past for a while and feel the ancient culture!

This place, not to mention the architecture, is already amazing in the history of its appearance. The mausoleum over the grave of Jalaladdin Rumi remained unchanged from 1274 for almost 6 centuries, until a museum was opened in Konya in 1927, creating a whole complex of structures with tekke dervishes near the tomb of Mevlana and a small park outside its walls. It's interesting to be on its territory. The main building inside is elaborately decorated. In addition to the sarcophagi of Mevlana himself, his family and 3 companions, the Sufi poet's personal belongings, prayer books and other shrines are kept there, priceless for Muslims. You can look into all the open doors of the monastery, inspect the exhibits and even the dervishes "dancing". What's wrong with touching Turkish culture?

The Mevlana Museum is a place where the relics of the Holy Founder of the order are kept. It is possible to take an audio guide, including in Russian. The atmosphere of living in ancient cells has been recreated.

A fabulous museum, like everything in the End. Free. It is very well decorated and filled. Although I am Orthodox, it is very interesting to get to know the shrines of Muslims. And this can be done thanks to the tolerance of Muslims towards Christians. There is a small market nearby, where we bought nice things and souvenirs.

Mevlana Tomb Located in the center of Konya, today it is a sacred place with a deep spiritual and cultural significance, beyond serving as the Mevlana Museum, it is not just an architectural structure. At the heart of the museum is the tomb of Mevlana, which is called the Green Dome. You should definitely breathe this beautiful mystical air

We recommend that you take a Russian-language audio guide at the entrance, you can use one for the whole crowd. For a little money, at least you'll understand what's going on here. And so you can visit, since you are in this city, lovers of ancient places and things will come.

A very unique experience di Mevlana's tomb was given the necessary attention and care, and you feel the energy of that period in this mausoleum museum, which is open to free visits

Wide roads have been opened around the Mevlana museum, the parking space problem has been solved. When you enter the spiritual atmosphere, only worship remains. In the past, you couldn't concentrate on thinking about parking your car and seeing the pollution around. I would like to thank all the employees of the municipality.

I would like to mention one feature that visitors do not pay much attention to. The door at the entrance of the dergah is wonderful with about 4 kg of silver-plated door embroideries commissioned by Grand Vizier Sokullu Mehmet Pasha. in front of the mausoleum of the 1950s, the street, the bathhouse and the famous başarabey mansion

The inscription on the foot of the ark says: “Whoever visits this grave will definitely be blessed and auspicious. This tomb is the resting place of Maulana Muhammad, the son of Muhammad, the son of Hussein of Belhli. He is the sultan of the scholars in the east and the west,” the inscription reads. The works of Mevlana, especially the Masnavi, as well as the works of Mevlana and Mevlevism, manuscript books, tablets, oil lamps and musical instruments are exhibited in the Museum. It is very nice that the entrance to the Mevlana Museum is free.

An interesting museum complex: tombs, an ablution fountain, exhibits in small rooms, writings. If you're staying nearby, then it's worth going in. I wouldn't have gone on purpose.

Stones that remember the Sufi dance. The land where the loquacious Rumi went to his Friend! This place is special for everyone who discovers the great dance of the Universe inside themselves. PS: if you want to talk to someone in silence and coolness, take a look at the souvenir shop next to the entrance to the museum - there is a very friendly owner there)

It was fate, we saw it even from the outside. It may be that such valuable places are both in the museum category. However, the government office should not stay within the working hours limit. It is important that a visit can be made at any desired time.

An interesting monument of Islamic culture. Well-maintained, well-groomed territory. It is unusual that they suggested putting on shoe covers instead of taking off their shoes.

Mevlana Museum Mevlana Museum in Karatay district of Konya The place of the museum is the rose garden of the Seljuk palace. The garden was given as a gift by Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat to Sultan al-Ulema Bahaeddin Veled, the father of Mevlana. When Sultanu'l-Ulema died in 1231, he was buried in his present place; his lovers wanted to build a mausoleum over the grave, but Mevlana refused this request by saying, "Would it be a better mausoleum than the sky dome". However, when Mevlana died in 1273, his son Sultan Veled accepted the wishes of those who wanted to build a mausoleum. The tomb called "Kubbe-i Hadra" (Green Dome) on the tomb of Mevlana was built on four elephant legs in 1274 by the architect Bedrettin from Tabriz.
