When he came to Bursa, he told this idea to his son-in-law, Emir Sultan, and He recommended that a mosque with twenty domes be built instead of twenty mosques. The location of the mosque was also shown to Emir Sultan with a spiritual sign in his dream, and the next day, the location of the mosque was determined by seeing that the grass ended at this indicated place. The decision was notified to the Sultan, and the Sultan, considering this appropriate, initiated the construction of the mosque. The mosque was built with the booty goods won in the victory of Niğbolu.

I visited the Bursa Grand Mosque and was really fascinated. As soon as you step into his courtyard, you feel the smell of history. With its quiet but majestic walls, elegant domes and stonework, it is a work of history that has been standing upright for almost centuries. The peace and serenity I felt when I entered was too deep to be described in words. The story of the Great Mosque 14. it dates back to the first century, to the early periods of the Ottoman Empire. It was built by Yildirim Bayezid Dec. 1396-1399 after the Victory of Nigbolu. According to the rumor, the sultan dedicated to building 20 mosques before the war; but after the victory, at the suggestion of the viziers, this vow was made in the form of a single mosque with 20 domes. For this reason, the dome layout of the Great Mosque has a very special place in Ottoman architecture. The first thing that catches your eye when you enter the mosque is the spacious area under the 20 wide dome and the fountain located in the middle. The sound of the water flowing from that fountain mixes with the prayers of the worshippers and completes the spiritual atmosphere of the mosque. The calligraphy on the interior walls is almost like an art gallery. In particular, the works of famous calligraphers such as Şefik Bey, Iznikli Mehmet Efendi and Kazasker Mustafa Izzet Efendi are masterpieces in which the verses of the Qur'an are combined with elegant calligraphy. For me, this visit was not just to see a mosque; it was like a trip to the birth of the Ottoman Empire, to that first period when faith and art met. As I walked around the mosque, I felt both the power of history and a deep peace. Ulu Mosque, located in the heart of Bursa, is one of the rare places that affects people both with its architecture and its spirit. Indeed, being there was not just a visit; it was a sacred experience in which the past, faith and human labor were united.
