Lovely historic train station with charming architecture and a nostalgic vibe. It’s worth a visit even if you’re not catching a train. If you’re planning to travel to Ankara or other major destinations, be sure to book your tickets well in advance — options can fill up quickly

Sirkeci Train Station in Istanbul is a really cool place! The legendary Orient Express stopped here, which gives this place a special atmosphere. Although the station itself won't say that it's straight wow, but it's definitely worth a look if you're passing by. The station has a metro line, which makes it convenient to visit. You can also find cafes serving delicious tea here — a great place to relax after a walk.

It's a beautiful place. We came to see the departure point of the Orient Express from a historical point. Everything is beautiful. Inside the cafe by appointment. Outside, you can drink tea at the tables. But we were unlucky, the waiter was very angry, the service was at zero. For this, a minus point

The first time in Istanbul, we just looked at the train station from the hotel terrace, the next time we walked around the station, although repairs are underway. Sirkeci is one of Istanbul's main railway stations, deeply intertwined with the history of the Orient Express. He gained worldwide fame thanks to the detective novel by Agatha Christie, who was one of the passengers of the Orient Express. Near the station there are such sights of the city as Topkapi Palace, Gulhane Park, Galata Bridge and Egyptian Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, Sultanahmet Mosque, Grand Bazaar. When Sirkeci opened, it was considered a very modern train station for its time with gas lamps and Austrian tiled stoves. Sirkeci station is currently not used for international transportation. After walking around the Bosphorus, the city, and the train station, I wanted to reread Agatha Christie.

The legendary place where the Orient Express left from. There is a functioning cafe inside. An interesting old building, very atmospheric. Very close to all the main attractions in Istanbul. A must-visit.

The train station described in the Orient Express. I expected something more. There is a cafe and a free museum. By the way, I liked the museum. There are many authentic exhibits, although everything is located in a small room.

Sirkeci Railway Station in Istanbul is an operational railway station. Most likely, it has been repaired many times, but it will leave an impression in your memory. There is a cafe where you can drink tea or coffee. It was interesting to see the train station that once connected Istanbul with Europe.

An authentic place. Convenient location. At the exit from the metro, opposite the ticket offices, there is a luggage storage (separate self-service cameras). The scoreboard is in different languages (there is also Russian). Rent for 12 hours costs 200 lira (but does not accept one bill, prepare small ones) - this is about 700 rubles. It is very convenient for those who want to take a light walk to Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.

It's a very beautiful train station. You can come and admire it as a local landmark. At the same time, despite the historical part, there is also a modern building where you can find everything you need.

Once in Istanbul during the New Year holidays, the park was once again used by Marmaray. High-speed trains connect the European and Asian parts of Istanbul. You can also take the Subway. It is very convenient, fast and inexpensive, 40 liras (according to the Istanbul map). In rubles, no more than 150 rubles Since we lived in the Fatih area, there was an entrance to the railway station around the corner of the hotel.

It is a very interesting and atmospheric place. The spirit of the era of the early 20th century. Agatha Christie- Murder on the Orient Express. If this is not an empty phrase for you, then you are definitely in court. Free museum on the territory of the station. Great photo zones.

The historical part is perfectly preserved. The best coffee in an inconspicuous cafe with seals. But there is a cat smell. It didn't stop us from having a cup of Turkish coffee.

It's nice to stand where Agatha Christie herself once stood, and there's also a restaurant inside the station, to sit in an atmospheric way and enjoy this moment. Turkish coffee from Turki - 110 liras.

Viewing for 10 minutes maximum if you do not go to the cafe. More for Poirot lovers than just tourists, but there is an exit to the Galata Bridge nearby.

The renovation is underway, and I hope that the architecture will be preserved after the renovation. An interesting place. There is a museum, but it is small, although it accommodates many exhibits. They promise that the museum will be big.

The cleanest train station I've ever seen. It's not really loaded, there are only 3 branches, but it can be crowded. And after leaving the station, there are great views. I recommend a visit.

It's really a pity that our historical heritage is waiting to stick with the pier that has been established for 30 years, next to which the parking lot is a disgrace, both very expensive and ruined places have died, I'm very sad that when we get here, an urgent hand needs to be taken

The Museum of Railway Transport is represented by a single steam locomotive lurking next to the building, and a sign for the Orient Express and a bell, as if it were the one that rang when that very express arrived.

I came specifically to see the old Sirkeci train station, from which the legendary Orient Express, known to everyone from the film based on the work of Agatha Christie, once departed. So what? The building is surrounded by a fence and a piece can be seen from the entrance to the subway) And that's it)) Is the building closed for restoration? Anyway, due to time constraints, I didn't look for more, it seems that the museum is open there until 17 :00, but I was in the evening and therefore decided not to return here. Goodbye, old railway station!!

4+ Is not to say that it is a direct attraction, but you can visit it. There is a small exposition associated with the station and responsive staff. ☝️ Here (in the mini-museum) you can buy tickets for the performance of the dervishes.

We were there looking for a Dervish show. it turned out that (no more). In general, it is very crowded, because there is a Marmaray station (city train). from the cute one, it's like going to the left after the ticket offices of the old part of the station with a restaurant. Then it was blocked by repairs.

All my reviews about Istanbul are in other maps. Sirkeci district is the most convenient and safe place in Sultanahmet to stay. Near the Egyptian bazaar, Eminenyu and Galata Bridge, Topkapi and Archaeological Museum.. From here it is close on foot to Istiklal.. And in general, it is convenient that any transport is nearby - ferries, trams, buses. There is also the Marmaray metro station - under the Bosphorus in Uskyudar. Funny - we drive for 3 minutes, climb / descend 12))) The station itself is beautiful, it was here that VE arrived. There is a free museum with copies of the VE, there are performances of dervishes.
