We got into this restaurant by chance, since it is located on the 8th floor of our hotel. But with this review, we will try to convince you to visit this place on purpose, even if you are not staying at Khai Karakoy. The restaurant is small, cozy, with dim lights, high-quality interior decoration and a wonderful panoramic view of the Galata Bridge. We started with the appetizers, which included: 1) roti celery root with fried apricots; 2) Turkish cheese with chili pepper jam; 3) mussels with stewed leeks. As a small compliment, we were offered another Turkish cheese with thyme and cold-pressed olive oil. The freshness, quality and taste balance of the dishes were, I'm not afraid to say, Michelin-starred: nothing superfluous, each dish with up to 3-4 ingredients, no accumulation of flavors and only perfectionism in every detail. The prostate, coupled with the perfection of cooking, is what you would expect from a gourmet restaurant. Even the stewed leek was cooked so that it could be eaten as a side dish. On the second, we were pleased with orzo pasta with seafood — and, again, nothing superfluous: only perfectly cooked pasta, thick, seafood sauce based on seafood juice without (!) any flavor-enhancing additives, cream, etc. The pasta was prepared at the level of an excellent restaurant in Italy. To all that has been said, it is necessary to add sensitive service: even to the point that after each dish the chef himself came out to us and inquired about the quality of the dishes. An important and customer-oriented practice, which, unfortunately, is now ignored in many, even expensive restaurants. Special admiration can be expressed to the bartender for the delicious and unusual cocktails. The Aura rum-based cocktail with smoked figs and a pleasantly tingling aftertaste of chili peppers was particularly enjoyable. The whole dinner cost us 80€: and this is an infallible combination of price and quality, and therefore a confident and well-deserved 5/5. Thanks to the chef and all the staff.
