Es Sur District (Al Shuwaiheen) This is the heart of historical Sharjah. Excursions here are usually on foot and are centered around the Sharjah Market (Souq Al Arsah), the oldest in the UAE, with adobe walls and an authentic atmosphere. Nearby there is a Museum of Maritime Heritage and a traditional shipyard, where wooden dow boats are still being built.
