I went to the Gorynych Tavern on Gagarin Street, a cozy place with a soul. The interior is in the Russian style, the walls are decorated with fabulous elements — immediately the atmosphere. The dishes turned out to be delicious: roasts, salads, soups — everything is like at home, the portions are quite large. The staff is friendly, not intrusive, they serve without haste. The price is slightly above average, but the overall atmosphere and quality are fine.

I've known this place for over 15 years for sure. I used to live nearby and every Friday they relieved stress there. Having arrived in Almaty the other day, I went with my comrade-in-arms and his wife. Well, I'll tell you, I have something to compare with, the prices here are higher than the average in Almaty. We ordered beer from Gorynych's brewery - a complete disappointment - the price for 3L, 7300tg, but it tastes like in the movie "it's not beer that destroys people, water destroys people," to be honest, I'm not thrilled. The kitchen is good, but I think for such a cafe-level establishment the prices are overestimated by 2 times. The price for a stick of kebab 250g at 3500.3900tenge is not justified. I know establishments at a higher level where the most delicate shish kebab can be eaten at 1500tg for 300g. As a result, we ordered for three people: shish kebab 2 portions, sausages 2 portions, grilled vegetables 2 portions, beer 2 times 3l., the total bill turned out to be about 45t, tenge. I compare the figures with similar establishments in Moscow, I will say this, in Moscow we pay 30-40% less for this. This is not a restaurant, but a cafe. But here the traffic is 24 * 7 in all establishments, the load even in the middle of the week is almost at the level of 90%. Demand creates supply and the level of service falls, as they say in the people, "they got too much."
