While traveling in Belarus, we included the wonderful town of Pinsk in our itinerary. There aren't many attractions, but we didn't regret spending 2 nights here. It's quiet and cozy. Of course, we went to the church - a landmark place not only for Pinsk, but also for the Blue-eyed as a whole. The building is beautiful, with rich decorations, carvings, and murals inside. The acoustics are unique, as is the organ itself, which is almost 200 years old! We couldn't get to the concert (which is free, by the way) - the next city was waiting for us, but we managed to listen to the rehearsal. It's great! A powerful, deep sound filled the whole church and flew to heaven! Beautiful!

The Franciscan Church of the Assumption was built on the site of a 16th-century church (1712-1730) with the inclusion of preserved fragments of old walls in the masonry. The church is three-nave. The middle nave, covered by cylindrical arches, defines the interior space: the narrow side aisles are actually divided into small sections. On the main facade there are two turrets, which play a modest role: the main compositional emphasis has been shifted to a shaped gable, the plastic of which has been increased due to a paneled recess layered along the contour, which occupies most of the wall. The decorative approach to the facade architecture continues in the Baroque forms of the frames, balcony grating, niches, cornices, belts. The elegance of the main facade contrasts with the side facade facing Lenin Street, and especially with the apse, which is monumental and austere in its decoration. In general, the monastery, the belfry tower, the church and the buildings accompanying the cult complex occupy the block between the Pina River and the main street of the city and to this day are one of the artistic attractions of Pinsk. The panorama of this ensemble opens beautifully from the river and the vast expanses of the right bank

The construction of the temple was completed in 1730. The church houses a unique, functioning organ, which is almost 200 years old. The history of the church itself is also unique. I recommend you to visit.

A very beautiful, original and unusual Catholic Church! Cozy and majestic at the same time! There is harmony and peace inside, silence and tranquility... There is a huge gorgeous Organ. Comfortable wooden benches made of solid wood with small tables, inside of which there are books, and on the benches themselves in some places soft, warm bedding. Painted ceiling, paintings of saints, statues, gold trim ... I really liked the cozy courtyard with a statue of the Virgin Mary inside and outside. I advise you to visit this wonderful place where you can retire with your thoughts, ask for help or wisdom from the saints, listen to Organ music, or just go to a museum...☺️🙏

Beautiful, like all temples. Check the schedule on the Internet, the church often hosts free concerts (it's better to come in advance to take seats). Before the concert, a short introductory word from the organizers - everything is short and to the point. And the music is great! The temple is functioning, therefore, respecting the feelings of believers, you will have to adjust the visit. At the entrance, you can purchase a commemorative magnet (strictly for cash) and get free good advice for all occasions, and if you ask for a small paper icon of one of the shrines of Belarus.

It's just amazing: a magnificent cathedral! There was a lovely lady sitting at the entrance who was very friendly and welcoming - we entered as welcome guests. The cathedral was decorated on the occasion of Christmas in a very soulful way. It's worth coming to Pinsk to visit this place! Although, to be fair, the city itself turned out to be very, very pleasant!

In the XIV century the Franciscan monastery, since the XIX century the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. An organ in 28 registers! Almost one and a half thousand metal and wooden pipes! The sound is unearthly... And, of course, the Pinsk Madonna, by Alfred Romer.
