The monument to Yanka Kupala in Minsk was erected in 1972 in the park named after him. Yanka Kupala on the 90th anniversary of the birth of the national poet. The monument embodies the personality of Ivan Dominikovich Lutsevich (real name Yanka Kupala) as a Poet-fighter [playwright and publicist, winner of numerous prestigious literary prizes] in the city park bearing his name in the very center of Minsk on the right bank of the Svisloch River, and this pleases.
One should not be too surprised at the scale of the sculpture, because in the Soviet years it was a common phenomenon.
Information for the most attentive - "At the bottom, at the very base of the monument, a fern flower is depicted - a symbol of eternity, inextinguishable creativity and purity."
