The Blue Mosque (formerly known as the Heavenly Mosque) is not only a real decoration of the Armenian capital, but also the only functioning Muslim temple in Yerevan. It is currently the center of the Iranian community in Armenia. It is worth visiting a mosque, even if you profess a different faith or adhere to the concept of atheism. The peaceful atmosphere and incredible beauty of the architectural ensemble of the Blue Mosque will allow you to spend time in silence and contemplation.

I did not expect that in the heart of Yerevan, in the very center of Armenian culture, there would be such a calm, elegant place — the Blue Mosque. Even the name seems like poetry.: "Blue" — and immediately patterns, azure, silence appear in my head. Outwardly, it is not loud, but modest, with pale blue domes and subtle calligraphic patterns. But when you go inside, you feel as if time is slowing down. The floors are made of warm stone, the air is fresh, with a light scent of wood and incense. No noise, no tourism — just prayer, silence and the light falling through the stained glass windows. I was especially touched that the mosque was preserved despite all the historical upheavals. This is not a museum — it is a living place of faith. Local Muslims come here as if they were at home. And tourists are like going to a temple of tranquility. The staff is friendly, does not impose, does not require you to take off your shoes — just smiles and nods. I stayed here for half an hour, just sat, listened, looked at the walls. No one touched it. No one is in a hurry. If you are in Yerevan, be sure to come by. Not as a "tourist attraction", but as a place where the soul can rest. This is not just a mosque. It's a reminder that the world can be quiet. And beautiful. And peaceful.

A beautiful place, contrasting with the surrounding city. I visited the colorful Persian-style mosque for the first time. Definitely worth a visit to this cozy courtyard. Halal meat is also sold.

There is a mosque in the center of Yerevan near the old market, the area around it is green, the minaret is left alone, Christians are not allowed into the mosque, but everything is quiet, there are benches, there is training, there are not many Iranians.

It is a very quiet and peaceful place, with a beautiful bagh in front, which is typical for every Iranian mosque, a beautiful fountain in the middle of the courtyard, there is also a Persian language circle, an exhibition center and of course the mosque itself, where people who do not profess Islam can enter.

Beautiful Persian mosque of the 18th century, in the center of Yerevan. It is located in the courtyard, because of this, silence and tranquility reign on the territory. The mosque has been restored with high quality. Remarkably, the only minaret is hidden from view, and you can see it by walking behind the main building.

The historical and cultural heritage of Yerevan is, among other things, the Blue Mosque with a very deep history. There is a museum complex and a small park on site. Some rooms are still under reconstruction, but they will be put into operation soon. Be sure to visit this place!

I want to tell you about a place that has always been in my mind — the Blue Mosque in Yerevan - how many times I passed by it, but never went inside. but Armenia and Iran have always been closely linked, not only by a common border. This mosque, built in the early 19th century, symbolizes not only the architectural heritage, but also the mutual respect between the two cultures for many centuries. ✨ I would also like to note from history that Iran provided asylum to Armenians fleeing persecution and violence during the genocide. Armenian refugees who found shelter in Iran received the necessary assistance and protection. any tourist can come here, and there are even robes for girls to visit the mosque itself. the atmosphere here is very friendly: many people came up, asked if they needed help, and tried their best to make my visit comfortable.

The entrance to the Blue Mosque is inconspicuous from Mashtots Avenue. Inside there is a cozy courtyard, a mini park. You can sit in the library, go to the WC. During our visit, there was an exhibition and sale of Iranian masters of hand-made crafts.

The quietest place in the center of Yerevan. It is a very calm and beautiful place where even non-religious people will be pleased to sit. There are a lot of cats and plants, I recommend you to take a look, because there are few places in Yerevan where you can relax from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Blue Mosque (Geoi Jami) is a cathedral mosque, a monument of Persian architecture with an area of 7000 m2 and a height of 24 m. It was built in 1765-1766 by the decree of Huseyn Ali Khan Qajar, Khan of the Erivan Khanate. During the Soviet years, the mosque was preserved during the reconstruction of the city, but it was first turned into a Museum of the city of Yerevan, then into a planetarium. In 1996-1999, the mosque was restored at the expense of Iran. Since 2018, the mosque has become a UNESCO Cultural Heritage site. The dome is lined with sky-blue tiles, which is why the mosque got its name. The preserved 24-meter minaret in the southeastern part of the complex. It is decorated with porcelain tiles with elements of majolica. There are 28 small pavilions on the territory and a library in the northern part. The mosque has a small courtyard with apricot trees, rose bushes and a small fountain.

A beautiful mosque. Walking down the street, you can pass by if you don't know. An architecturally interesting object, you can go inside. To the left and right of the mosque, students from all over the world sell goods. It's funny, but the prices are quite high.

I am very impressed with the visit. An ancient Shiite mosque has taken refuge in the historical center of Yerevan. The silence inside the mosque is soothing to any believer. Despite the unity of the style, different parts and structures of the mosque reveal different eras and a difficult fate.

The Blue Mosque opens every day at 08:30. The exception is Friday, when it is closed to travelers until 14:30, as Friday prayer takes place here. Geoi Jami was built in 1766 by order of the current Sardar (governor) of Yerevan, Khan Huseyn Ali from the Qajar dynasty, and in the past was one of the eight main operating mosques of the Erivan Khanate.

A cozy place and a cultural attraction in the city center. An island of tranquility in this raging ocean of human bustle outside))) It's nice to sit on a bench and read when you want peace and quiet. Clean and tidy. It functions as a museum and as a functioning mosque. They sell beautiful souvenirs. The local ministers are mostly Iranians, so the language of communication is mostly English, if you need to clarify something. The place of prayer itself is open to parishioners during the entire working hours of the mosque. The hall is quiet and peaceful. There are abayas at the entrance for women. I often come to submit a petition for prayer for Tatar relatives. I was lucky once -there was an imam. I, a Christian, was even invited to be present at prayer. Everything is very friendly. It's free, as far as I know. But if desired, you can submit a sadaqa (donation) along with the note or drop it in the mailbox. I recommend the place.
