Hotel Name: InterContinental Hotel Verified: 10 days of stay An objective analysis of the "survival system" at the InterContinental Hotel. After a ten-day stay at the hotel, I have to state that InterContinental is positioning itself at a level higher than it can handle in terms of service organization. In short, this is not a vacation, but a tactical survival game. The main problem: chronic shortages and queues. The basis of the entire negative experience is the total lack of resources for the number of guests. · Food: Queuing at the main restaurant is an inevitability. About 15 minutes of standing at the entrance, and then the same amount of waiting for the head waiter to find you an empty table. The waiting list system is unreliable: we personally encountered the fact that another family called our number and they were led to the table instead of us. (the staff shouts out the room number and shows the guests out, if you miss it, there will be a smart guy who will say that he is you and will be shown to a table). If you are late for breakfast, be prepared that some dishes (such as bananas or red apples) will already be over. · Deck chairs: The famous "battle for deck chairs" is absolute here. By 7:00 a.m., all the comfortable places by the sea are already "booked" with towels, books and toys. If you do not participate in this morning ritual, you will, at best, be offered two sun loungers on the last line, but without an umbrella. Umbrellas are absolutely not enough for everyone. The disaster of the service: from forgetfulness to complete disregard. Restaurant service is a separate topic of conversation. · Main restaurant: Waiters often forget to bring drinks. I had to ask for 3-5 reminders about simple coffee. By the end of the rest, we already went to the coffee machine ourselves, so as not to waste our nerves. · Levant & Nor Restaurant: This experience has become a boiling point. We signed up for 19:00, 26.10., we were led to the table, put the menu... and that was the end of it. No one came to our table for exactly 25 minutes. Neither the waiter nor the manager. We had to leave. For a restaurant with a limited number of tables, such an absolute disregard for guests is unacceptable. Comparative analysis. For context: we previously stayed in 5-star hotels in the UAE. Unfortunately, the InterContinental service level does not reach them. InterContinental is, at best, a solid foursome, but not at all at the declared high level. Resume: Staying at this hotel is suitable only for those who are ready for constant struggle. You have to fight for a sunbed, fight for a table in a restaurant, fight for the attention of a waiter and guard your number on the dinner waiting list. You will not be able to relax and forget about worries here — you will be constantly in good shape. Verdict: If saving is your priority, and you don't mind the need to "be smart" on vacation, then this option has the right to live. If you value your rest, time and nerves and want to really relax, I strongly recommend considering other hotels, although you will have to pay a little extra. The difference in the quality of rest will be enormous.
