The place is organized perfectly! There has always been a market here. For many centuries. Now everything is in the tone and traditions of the old shopping streets of the east, but everything has been updated and reconstructed to a chic state, installed almost everywhere under the roof and equipped, you will be surprised, with powerful air conditioners. At the same time, this place has remained the old oriental bazaar. You can wander and contemplate for a long time. You can buy something, although the prices are precisely adjusted for non-poor tourists. My six-year-old son liked the bird market the most. There is a metro station nearby, and many other attractions. Lots of cafes. An improvised amusement park for children is organized by the road. My son enjoyed riding a camel.

A legendary place in the center of Doha. In the evening, you can wander for hours and be surprised. There are stone products and spices and souvenirs and parrots and food and clothes. Everything is everything that the soul desires. During the day, the picture changes dramatically. The closed shops look at you forlornly. But I was delighted with the evening visit, despite the heat. This is a real Oriental bazaar, as it is imagined. I recommend it to everyone to visit

It's a wonderful, colorful place. A wide variety of products, souvenirs, and restaurants. Very cozy streets. It's a pleasure to take a walk. They accept a card with the Union Pay payment system everywhere, which was a big plus for us.

This is something unreal. The market is simply saturated with the aromas of the east. There is a golden eagle market, a bird market, sweets, perfumes, handbags, slippers, and souvenirs. I found everything I wanted!

A picturesque place. Despite the presence of top malls and shopping malls in the country, there is a market in the city center where pots, buckets, sneaker hats, fabrics, nuts, raisins and other goods are sold. There is a whole department of birds, fish and other animals. There are shops nearby that sell live falcons, look, it's interesting.

Souk Waqif Market is located in the city center of Doha. It is one of the largest and most distinctive markets in Qatar. The market is not only a trading center where everything is sold. But it is also a historical landmark where you can get to know the culture and traditions of Qatar better. There are guided tours in Suk Waqif, where tourists get acquainted with the traditions of falconry, admire Arabian horses and visit the camel market. On the territory of the market there is the oldest Bismillah hotel, which used to be used by merchants who came to the market to trade. But even now this hotel is functioning. It has only 2 suites, which must be booked in advance. There is also an indoor Al Rayyan Theater in the market. Passing through the narrow streets of the market, you can get to the falcon bazaar. The falcon hospital is located next to it. It is a modern 3-storey building with an outpatient clinic, wards and operating rooms with state-of-the-art equipment. If you walk along the street with souvenirs, you can go to a shop where they sell pearls. This shop belongs to the oldest pearl diver, now living, 90-year-old Saad Ismail Jassim. If you're lucky enough to find him in the store, you can take a picture with him. Not far from the pearl shop there is a huge sculpture of the Golden Finger, which was installed in honor of the victory of the Qatar national team in the Asian Cup in 2019. Although it is not gold, but bronze, it is nevertheless a place of attraction where everyone is photographed. The market is very big, there are a lot of streets and alleys. You can easily get lost. But it's still very colorful and interesting. And if you get tired, you can always relax and have a snack here, as there are a lot of different cafes and restaurants on the market. At the same time, you can also get acquainted with the national food, which is presented in large quantities. I think this market should be visited by anyone who wants to get to know better what kind of country Qatar is.

The market is amazing. It's a very autointective atmosphere, even though it's new. A maze of streets in which it is impossible to get lost. Shops where locals shop. Workshops where artisans work. The falcon market. Cafes with local and non-local food. Karak tea in a cafe on the street under a huge tree. The atmosphere of the oriental bazaar is in every detail. I recommend you to visit. It's easy to get there by metro. Suk Vakif station.

An authentic atmosphere, which is very lacking in the rest of Doha. There are a lot of people in the afternoon and evening. I liked it better in the evening: it became more cozy, lanterns are lit everywhere) The metro station of the same name is located nearby.

The place is very clean and pleasant. You can feel the atmosphere of the east, although the building was built only in the twentieth century. It's almost the same in every shop, except for the small change in the variety of magnets and figurines. When entering from Al Ahmad Square, do not buy souvenirs right away - walk along the main street to the end and turn into some nook. There, prices are slightly lower, and sellers are more accommodating, you can bargain. If you stand with your back to the mosque at the entrance and go deeper into the narrow streets, you will immediately come out to spices and sweets. I do not recommend buying sweets - these are international brands that are everywhere (I met sweets produced in Balashikha), but spices and dried fruits (especially dates and figs) are recommended. Go to the store, the name of which is in the photo, this is the only place where we were given to try both nuts and dried fruits in unlimited quantities (they didn't even offer anywhere else, "buy immediately without a sample") It's very beautiful at night, everything is illuminated, but there are even more people, get ready for the fact that you will have to push

Good afternoon, friends...I continue to share my impressions of Qatar...Surely, each of us, when visiting an eastern country, strolled through the souk (bazaar)...So I went to Suk Vagif to get dates...This is one of the attractions of Doha..The buildings of the Souk-Vakif market, built of clay and smeared with mud, take us back to the past, reminding us of a bygone era. However, despite its appearance, the market continues to be the center of the city's commercial and social life, where people meet and trade, as well as exchange news and gossip...Without any apparent logic, there were shops offering clothes, giant aluminum pots, copper coffee pots, various spices, factory-made sweets, handmade pashmina and many other goods...There is also a falconry market and even a falconry hospital...Falconry is also popular in Qatar.. There is also a camel beauty contest near the market...They should have a large head, large lips and a wide nose, a long neck and a large body. An important criterion in the beauty contest is also the size and shape of the hooves. If nature has not endowed the camel with beauty, then you can resort to some tricks. Preparing for a camel beauty contest can be both legal and illegal. They are legally washed, shaved, and their fur is trimmed. Beautiful bedspreads are prepared for them...Illegal beautification of the appearance of animals includes the use of botox to enlarge lips and nose. A profitable business..The game is worth the candle: the maximum amount of the cash prize for the first place is more than 150 thousand US dollars. In general, the most interesting place is this Vagif Bitch.I recommend you to visit.. It's easy to get lost in the numerous streets of the market, and everyone usually agrees to find each other at the Golden Finger..The monument was erected to commemorate Qatar's victory in the Asian Cup in 2019.

It's amazing how an incredibly progressive country has consciously preserved its ancient tradition in the form of such a market. Everything is fine, they go shopping here themselves. At the same time, no one pulls at the shops by the hands. Of course, the sections with shops for falcons and horses, as well as the falcon hospital, are especially memorable.

It's colorful, bright, and noisy. Crowded, polyphonic, and multilingual. Diverse and eclectic. Colorful, atmospheric and authentic, although everything is not what it seems. Suk Waqif perfectly conveys the essence, spirit and style of the traditional oriental bazaar, being its modern counterpart (more precisely, its reconstructed successor). "Ah, it's not hard to deceive me!.. I'm glad to be deceived myself." And tourists are ready to easily and immediately believe that this oriental tale, told and shown especially for them, is ancient (despite the by no means rare air conditioners), and that everything sold is truly valuable, and not a Chinese craft and fake. Of course, there are many original and unique things. For example, the falcon market and the specialized state clinic for falcons, the national symbol of Qatar (impressed by what I saw and learned about noble feathered predators, I wrote a separate review about Souq Waqif Falcon Hospital). And a stable with beautiful Arabian horses, and soft-lipped camels. And a cool bird market. And for the first time I saw dried lemons, and a variety of spices, and wonderful dates. And a mountain of beautiful carpets. And the ubiquitous seals. And a "junk shop" with pearls. And delicious karak tea. Amazing cafes and restaurants. And the cool Golden Finger (related to Akinfeev's foot) is a meeting place and a favorite location for photo shoots. And the oldest Bismillah Hotel is a boutique hotel with only two suites booked for years to come. In general, you can walk, watch, listen, buy, be surprised and inspired in the area of the huge Waqif market for a long time. Which we were happy to do on a tour of Doha in November 2025.

I didn't understand how it works a bit: a lot more outlets were open on Monday than on Tuesday. There are two cafes at the entrance - desert rose and a Yemeni cafe to the right of it. I won't say about the desert rose, but I recommend the Yemeni one: the dishes are huge, delicious, and relatively inexpensive. I recommend the Zerbaian Meet - excellent steamed meat (opinions are divided, beef or lamb) with rice soaked in broth. Very tasty.

the only place in Doha that seemed authentic and therefore I liked it. Especially in contrast to the ultra-modern business center, which is not so far away. There are few shops open in the morning and afternoon, few places accept cards, dollars are accepted, as well as rials. Everything is here - from sweets and local jewelry to buckets of slippers. There are also excellent cafes and restaurants. I recommend - The Village. I really liked the bird market - it's crowded and I was especially interested in the auction where the peacock was being sold. Before leaving for the airport, this is a great place to remember Qatar.
