Its ballet performances are impressive. Armenian ballet has hugely developed recently. For tourists from abroad I would recommend Antouni and Gayane ballets, they are very well staged and choreographed and are full of national flavor. Opera is also worth visiting, if you like it. I would specially mention Anoush.

Great place to watch ballets, operas, and other entertaining shows. In front of it, there is also a place for children to ride colorful cars in the evening.

One solid star for the orchestra of talented musicians and their conductors. Another for the hardworking performers. One more for the building, with excellent acoustics, solid Soviet architecture, and appropriate decoration (perhaps the finest chandelier in Armenia!). Minus one full star for the obnoxious audiences. I've been four times; without fail there are rude people having full conversations, insisting they be allowed to occupy the wrong seats, filming despite the announcement (in three languages!), checking their worthless social media, even ring tones going off at full volume. Imagine this happening in the country of the people who built this place...What's next, vaping and cigarettes inside? Subtract another whole star for the mostly worthless ushers I have never seen inside the actual theater. They are fiercely and solely focused on making sure you have paid and once that is assured, customers are abandoned to the interior where the stated common sense rules are not enforced by management nor staff nor polite society. If you can ignore self-centered cretins with no social awareness, much less a modicum of manners, this is a great place. As for me, I come to hear incredible music and see beautiful performances. These feasts for the senses deserve to be enjoyed with maximum appreciation, which requires full aural and visual sensitivity incompatible with retarded narcissists blathering and phone-derping without interruption from those who should be responsible for assuring enjoyable performances.

The seats need some updating, but what a charming place this is... As for the shows, regardless of the quality (I've seen great stuff and not so great stuff) one cannot help but appreciate the effort and the artistry...

Very beautiful place,💚 Famous musicians from around the world went there, including Samvel Yervinyan, who worked with Yanni. When it comes to receiving tickets, the workers inside are very nice and polite, especially to those who have health problems with walking. They provide good service by respecting the visitors. ❤️

Recently, I was lucky enough to attend a production of Carmen at the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in Yerevan, and here is my review: Impressions From the very entrance, the theater makes an impression: a luxurious facade, a cozy lobby, elegance in details. The performance of "Carmen" turned out to be lively, emotional and intense. The music, the production, the performance of the artists — everything turned out well. What I particularly liked The orchestra and choir work with full dedication: there have been many times when the hall literally froze. The soloist in the role of Carmen is bright, charismatic, with a powerful timbre and scenic energy. The set design and costumes competently support the drama — there is passion, tragedy, and the dramatic ending are clearly read. The atmosphere of the theater: comfortable chairs, good audibility, everything is conveniently located. It can be seen that the production is designed for both the sophisticated viewer and those who come for the first time — visual effects, action, dynamics keep the attention. What could be improved In some moments, the director's interpretation seemed a little conservative: I want a little more freshness, surprise. If we talk about Jose's part (or his equivalent), she was slightly inferior to Carmen in terms of expressiveness, which slightly unbalanced the impression. In the finale: the stage plasticity and movement could have been a little freer, a little less static in some episodes. Result If you are planning a trip to the theater, this production will be an excellent choice. She enjoys the meaning of "opera"—with music, drama, and spectacle. The Spendiarian Theater has confirmed its status as one of the leading cultural centers in Yerevan.

I recommend visiting the opera house. You will be lucky to see a world-class performance for a penny in Russian rubles - 1000 rubles. I was lucky enough to see Carmen's opera, I felt like I was in the movie Pretty Woman. I REALLY liked Carmen, and Jose's part to her: he sang so much that I believed he loved her ::.so many feelings, so many emotions. So much work has been put into this work, thanks to the director and the director, the musicians. ♥️

The theater is unique, large and spacious. But very old, worn-out chairs, repair requires not only furniture, but also floors, walls, etc. But we didn't come here to criticize, but to Georges Bizet's classic opera Carmen. But I liked the performance: the orchestra played in balance with the singers' voices, all the choirs sounded harmonious, the choir artists were expressive, and the soloists were excellent. I was impressed by Mikaela's soft and lyrical timbre, Zunig's rich, bright, metallic voice, Escamillo was convincing, Carmen has expressive plasticity, magnetic temperament, and a luxurious, even voice in all registers! The performance left a great impression and found a warm response in the hearts of the audience, who rewarded all the performers with a standing ovation!

A very beautiful and majestic building in the very center of Yerevan. The architecture is simply fascinating! The latest restoration work was excellent! The interior is also like a living museum, the interior and everything is just amazing! Be sure to go to the performance at the Opera House, you will like both the sound quality and the staff!

It's a beautiful building. The acoustics inside are great, and we appreciated that because we got to see the performance. The park around is also beautiful. There is also a monument to the outstanding Armenian composer Arno Babajanian nearby.

The opera and Ballet theater looks very expensive and beautiful from the outside, but inside they are ordinary. I went to the Gayane ballet and liked it. The costumes are beautiful, bright, and I watched them in one go

Very impressive. We went on an excursion to the A.Khachatryan Concert hall, and in the evening we went to the opera in another part of the theater. A huge building with an opera house on one side and a concert hall on the other. I really liked everything.

May the gods forgive me, but.... I really want those who have the opportunity to go to a concert in Yerevan on 06/23/25. Rachmaninov's piano concertos performed by Ilya Papoyan in the acoustics of this hall should be amazing. We listened to him perform Gershwin and the Zweisman Jazz Suite in St. Petersburg. Incredible technique and sooo emotional. On 10.26.25 I went to "Aida" - Ophelia Ambartsumyan incredibly liked Aida - a beautiful, strong, clear voice, the aria "Patria mia" was performed easily. It's a pity that I couldn't find other recordings of this singer online and on YouTube. PR should work better. I also liked Tigran Hakobyan's Radom. It's a pity that Amonasro-Gevorg Hakobyan was replaced (due to illness). My impressions of the performance were positive. The scenery is beautiful.

If you find yourself in Yerevan, be sure to visit the National Opera and Ballet Theater. It's not just a building — it's an entire epoch, embodied in architecture and sound. What's impressive: ✅ Acoustics. The sound in the hall is clear, powerful, and enveloping. Architecture. A majestic building, a spacious hall, comfortable armchairs, elegant chandeliers — the atmosphere of a classical theater. , Repertoire. It's especially nice that the tickets are affordable, so you can afford a little luxury even while traveling. I watched Carmen here, and it was unforgettable. The orchestra is lively, the soloists are strong, the emotions are over the edge

It's a very beautiful building, both inside and out. I went to the Nutcracker ballet quite well, although I honestly am not a connoisseur, it was just interesting to go to the ballet once. The scenery is great, and the musicians in front of the stage were most impressed, they are amazing, just great! Respect for the actors too! If you are a fan of ballet and opera, you should definitely visit.

A chamber, cozy theater. The auditorium is not large, the stage is clearly visible from any place. The first few rows of seats are arranged without lifting, and a good ascent begins above, so that even a large, tall spectator sitting in front of them will not interfere with enjoying the action taking place on stage. We were at the Nutcracker ballet. I liked the production, it's not too long, it looks easy. In terms of status in Armenia, this theater is comparable to the Moscow Bolshoi Theater, however, tickets for performances are much more affordable. The most expensive ticket for the ballet The Nutcracker cost about 3,500 rubles (AMD 12,000). Tickets can be purchased online, but MIR cards are not accepted for payment. It is possible to make a reservation with the purchase of the order within 72 hours.

For opera 5. For ballet 4. I like the theater. And now it's better: they've started warming up, lighting the lobby, selling programs, musicians have stopped smoking in the pit, a buffet has appeared, and performances are being performed more often. I've been to two operas, Troubadour in Italian and Anoush in Armenian. They sang beautifully. The second one is good for getting to know the culture. Italian operas in general look very authentic. I've been watching ballet quite recently. Swan Lake. In 2 acts )). With Russian dancers. But the soloists were local. I am not an experienced ballet spectator, but there are questions)). To the soloists. And I haven't been touched by the music yet. Strange. She didn't get into the soul. The seats were good. There were fibers at the opera, but not at the ballet. But there was another conductor. And I didn't like the shortened version of the ballet. Where is the dying swan?(( A friend was watching Spartacus. She said that the soloist looked authentic. Well, as in Sparta)), ancient Rome. A hall with excellent visibility! Starting from row 8, a more significant increase begins, and it is from row 8 and above that it is better to buy tickets. There is also a pretty decent visibility on the sides. The occupancy rate has increased, but you can still buy tickets every day without any problems. And the tickets started to cost significantly more. There's only one buffet, and there's a long queue. Cognac is definitely being poured. Performances are not every day, but they began to be given more often. I plan to walk to Khachaturian myself!

The theater made a huge impression.I didn't regret at all that we visited him and watched The Nutcracker .A wonderful New Year's tale, the ballet dancers created a wonderful mood, thank you! And the theater itself is decent, beautiful, the hall, very comfortable chairs in the stalls. The orchestra is beyond praise! Well done! And the ticket price was pleasantly surprised. We also wanted to go to the opera in the theater, but, unfortunately, we were already on our way and there was little time.

A unique place! I really liked the production, the dancers of the highest level. Live music! Derozher is actually a handsome man! The dancers came and went, and he did aerobatics for all three acts! The production is super! Everything is nice and comfortable inside. They gave me the program for free - it's a small thing, but it's nice.
