Solna Church, 1180s, is one of the most interesting churches in Sweden. The church was founded in the time of King Knut Eriksson, son of Eric the Saint, when Sweden was torn apart by civil strife. At that time, churches were built in the form of round towers with thick walls, where one could not only pray, but also defend oneself from enemies. There are eight known churches of this type in Sweden. In the 14th century, when it became quieter, side chapels began to be added to the round church. Inside the church are frescoes by Albert Pictor, 15th century. In front of the church are the graves of diplomats, including the Russian ambassador, General Peter Sukhtelen.
