“The Khorezm Museum is an incredible place full of rich history and cultural heritage. The exhibits are well-organized and allow you to deeply feel the spirit of the past. Each hall is thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to explore and understand. The staff are welcoming and always ready to answer questions with patience. Visiting this museum feels like traveling back in time. Definitely worth a visit for anyone coming to Khorezm!”

Amazing historical place. But it is best to go there in autumn or spring, as winter and summer can be quite harsh.

It is located away from the tourist trails in Uzbekistan... And thank God. Authenticity has been preserved here. For me, Khiva is the soul of Uzbekistan. No new buildings, Coca-Cola signs, narrow ancient streets, very sociable and hospitable people. I have been to several cities of Uzbekistan, there is something to compare it with.

“Ichan-Kala in Khiva is a real pearl of Uzbekistan and an open—air museum. The unique architectural complex, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, impresses with its atmosphere and beauty. Narrow streets, ancient madrassas, minarets and mosques create a feeling as if you have been transported into the past. Kunya Ark, Islam Khoja Minaret and Juma Mosque are especially impressive. There is an amazing spirit of history here, which can be felt at every step. The place is ideal for leisurely walks and photos. A visit to Ichan-Kala is a must for anyone who wants to learn more about the culture and history of Uzbekistan!”

The old fortress of the ancient city. One of the coolest places in Uzbekistan, completely different from the rest. Unlike Bukhara and Samarkand, there is a minimum of renovation and restoration. Standing here, you feel the passage of time. The energy is frenzied. This place is often called Asian Egypt and there is something in it. By the way, the prices of merchants are lower than in other cities, if you bargain, of course. I definitely recommend it. If the question is that it is far from the central cities and whether it is worth coming here at all, then do not think for a long time. It's definitely worth going, thank you later)

A curious object. It's a big fortress. A city within a city. Just walking around the facility will not be enough. There are a lot of museums and interesting exhibitions inside the various buildings of this fortress. The object has been restored, the modern road surface is new sidewalks made of good-quality tiles (unlike other objects on the territory of Uzbekistan). During the day, you can observe many wedding ceremonies, as there are revered shrines on the territory of the fortress, which are usually visited during these ceremonies. Toilets on the territory of the fortress are paid. I was surprised that even today some of the buildings are used as housing stock and people live in these houses. I recommend you to visit. But preferably with a guide.

We got a lot of impressions, we hardly saw the staff. The architecture is very interesting, I advise everyone to visit. We didn't take any guided tours. The location is good. This place has its own vibe, which it would be good for everyone to experience.

An interesting museum of the history of the Khiva Khanate. You can see the inner chambers of the owners, the harem. The exposition is not bad. I advise everyone, the historical premises are very interesting.

The museum is quite large. There is an area where the excavations are shown and many small rooms with different expositions. In addition, there are several beautiful iwans with patterned tiles and columns. We went without a guide and regretted it a little, because the story is not very clear (everything is very complicated and confused, there are still questions). I advise you to go with a guide and find out everything completely.

The place for which they go to Khiva. You just can't get past it. It is necessary to take a walk both day and night. For today, the ticket costs 200,000 soums, valid for 2 days. In the evening, no one checks and you can pass without a ticket, but all museums, palaces and madrassas will be closed.

It's a great place. The old town, the fortress, dozens of historical sites, madrassas, minarets, inexpensive souvenirs. In general, it is interesting and informative for those who like to understand history, people and ways of life. Call a taxi using the short phone number 1054.

We really liked the hotel! Thanks to the managers and employees of the hotel, who do everything to make the guests happy with their stay! We reserved it for a day, and then extended it because of the good atmosphere of the courtyard. The hotel is located in the madrasah building, and the tourist continues to feel the antiquity of Khiva while living here. Excellent breakfast, parking is available. The old town is only 250 meters away!

A beautiful historical place, a day is enough to get acquainted. There is an opinion that UNESCO selectively allocates funds for the repair and restoration of historical architectural values, and local authorities should not interfere in this process. The conclusions are sad. But once in a lifetime it is necessary to visit this historical place.

A great place to immerse yourself in the history of ancient Khorezm! Mega cool national cuisine! I recommend trying fried fish and shivit oshy, but melons just melt in your mouth. For 20 thousand soums, which is about 1000 rubles, you can walk along the walls of the fortress. I recommend the Rasul Nazar mini Hotel. The hosts are amazingly kind.

A beautiful palace! It looks especially cool at night with lights. In the evening, after the decline of tourists, you can walk around the palace in proud solitude and even climb onto the roof (with beautiful, beautiful views) along abandoned stairs. Life hack: the palace is closed at night, but the keys are in the nearest bar at the entrance. You can arrange and the palace will be opened especially for you :))) It will be an unforgettable experience.

A surprisingly charming place😍I was enchanted, feeling as if I had fallen into the history of the ancient ages. I can't believe that people once lived here, hotels are certainly expensive, but souvenirs can be found cool. The food is good and very, very interesting, you don't want to leave, and you can't get around a huge place in a day

A rather mediocre museum. Take tickets for two days so that you can slowly go through the next day what you did not have time for on the first day. A very overpriced price for climbing the minaret.

The stunningly beautiful ancient city of Khiva. A lot of impressions. No photos will convey what they saw. One point is not clear why the entrance to the museum for foreigners, and Russians are foreigners for them, costs almost four times more expensive. As far as I know, we have the same price for everyone.

There are no questions about the city and museums: it's beautiful and interesting. One for the guide - for her incompetence and extortion) The two of us took a city guide at the museum's ticket office. Guzel was constantly confused in her testimony. For example, Al-Khorezmi was born to her in the 10th century, and continued his studies at the "House of Sages" in Kunya-Urgench after the conquest of Khorezm by the Mongol-Tatars. Apparently, he was such a long-lived local man - it's amazing that he didn't live to this day. (In general, according to Wikipedia and other sources, Al-Khorezmi lived and worked in the 8th and 9th centuries in Khiva and Baghdad in the very same "house of sages"). And so it was for almost the entire tour. At the same time, we listened to the English-speaking guides out of the corner of our ears - there were more details and accuracy in the presentation of the facts known to me. And at the finish line, we received a price tag that was overestimated by 2 times compared to the price list (cash payment in the hands of the guide). They say the payment per hour is indicated.) The tourist police were not around, so we had no one to turn to for help. I didn't want to make a scene, so we paid off. In general, ask for all payment details in advance. And it is better to take a guide somewhere else. At least the price tag is clear there and you can read reviews about it in advance)

The old city is inside the fortress walls. The entire historical Khiva is located here. Narrow streets dotted with madrassas, mosques, caravanserais, restaurants, hotels and even residential buildings. You live in history. The feeling of a fairy tale. There are only crowds of merchants in turbans, camels and donkeys. Very beautiful, lots of places to visit. All trade in souvenirs, tableware and textiles is in Ichan-Kalya. Even locals come from Urgench to buy national robes here. If you want to eat inside the fortress, book in advance. It is difficult to find lunch, and dinner is impossible. And don't break into the terraces. Uzbeks do not know how to serve quickly and efficiently. Crowds of tourists, large groups. The waiters are stupid, the quality is pushed aside. And worst of all, the service is included in the bill. That is, it makes no sense for the waiter to try. And so it is throughout Uzbekistan, by the way, with very rare exceptions.
