Another symbol of Ferghana, an attribute of the General's City, is the House of Officers, before the revolution the Military Assembly (like the Governor's House, founded in 1879), the center of cultural life of the dusty Russian stronghold in the restless valley. The House of Officers is so huge that it does not fit into one frame, and has clearly expanded several times since its construction
