An interesting place for history lovers. The complex includes the house where Stalin was born, the main museum with exhibits and a private railway carriage. The museum has a lot of personal belongings of the leader, gifts, documents and photographs. I was particularly impressed with the death mask and the mock-up of the mausoleum. The guide tells us in detail and interestingly. The railway carriage is also interesting, although there's not much to walk around inside — everything is fenced off. But you can see how Stalin traveled. The museum is suitable for those who are interested in history. It can be a bit boring without an excursion, but it's worth a visit to understand the era.

You probably already know that Gori is Stalin's hometown, so his museum is a special place for the townspeople. The museum has a lot of Socialist realism-style works (of course) and some gifts made to Stalin by both officials and ordinary Soviet citizens. What impressed me the most was the death mask (it is located in a separate, very solemn hall) and Stalin's railway carriage. The latter is interesting because it can be used to understand the life of that time, the life of one of the most powerful leaders. On the one hand, the carriage is really luxurious, with a bedroom, a meeting room, a bathroom with a bathtub (!). But everything is very modest in design. Remembering Stalin's dacha in Sochi, I think it was probably in this "military asceticism", in greenery and wood, that the chic of that era consisted... but, anyway, no matter how each of us relates to the era and personally to Stalin, this is another reason to touch that time and reflect on the past and present. If you decide to visit Uplistsikhe, then you definitely need to visit the museum in Gori (and vice versa). They are located quite close to each other, and they will give a lot of impressions.

We visited the Joseph Stalin House Museum in Georgia. This is a whole complex that includes: the house in which he was born, the train carriage in which Stalin traveled during the Second World War and, in fact, the museum itself, which contains documents, photographs, household utensils and gifts from different countries made to the Soviet Union. We were shocked by several things: in what poverty (like a hovel) he was born, how this man rose from the very bottom to the head of a huge country, and how ascetic he was. We learned a lot of interesting facts from his biography, how much this man could put the interests of the country above his own. It is a shame that the Khrushchev era consigned Stalin's achievements to oblivion. He fell on very difficult times in his life. In difficult times, tough decisions are a necessity, not a whim.

There are many exhibits - paintings. Here they learned that the artist I.Toidze was inspired to write the famous "Motherland is Calling" by his wife, who ran into his studio with the news of the outbreak of war. The same armored car. As you can see, everything is very modest. I must say, the guide narrates quite delicately, avoiding "sharp" corners, given the ambiguous attitude towards Stalin's personality. Sometimes it's very selective. In particular, when talking about Stalin's daughter Svetlana, she literally said that she lived in the United States and her children live there too. I already choked (her children, who were born in the USSR, were abandoned by her, and they definitely did not leave for the USA, only the daughter of an American lives in the USA). And I ask the guide, "Do you probably mean children born abroad? After all, her two children live/have lived in Russia, in any case, the volcanologist daughter lives in the village of Klyuchi in Kamchatka." She replied, not at all embarrassed, "Oh, yes. These are the children of Yuri Zhdanov." Well, the agenda aimed at the separation of peoples is felt. On the territory of the museum there is also an armored carriage of Stalin. Everything is very modest by modern standards.

A gorgeous museum for history lovers. Huge halls, lots of photos and paintings, everything is signed. The tours go all the time, you buy an entrance ticket and go with a group and listen to the guide. Our company split up, some were interested in walking as a group, others separately. There is a small park nearby and the train in which the leader was traveling.

An interesting historical place. The guide told me an interesting story. The exhibits are all impressive. But there was one room where it was not very pleasant to be because of the not very pleasant smell. Lots of impressions.

The house where Joseph Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili (Stalin) was born. The house was built in the 19th century from Georgian brick. Stalin's parents rented one room and a basement in it, where the father of the future leader sewed shoes for the urban rich. Joseph spent the first four years of his life in this house. It is now part of the Stalin Museum and is surrounded by a marble pavilion in the form of a portico with columns. The interior of the house retains the atmosphere of the late 19th century: simple wooden furniture, pottery, embroidered curtains. The house was located in another place, it was transported here and an open-type "sarcophagus" was built around it.

It's also a good Soviet museum, which tries not so much to politically expose or exalt Stalin as to show the scale of the figure and events that affected his century. Informative and must-visit if you are in Gori

An unusual and controversial place. The exhibition tells about Stalin's life, his personal carriage and the house where he was born have been preserved. The atmosphere is more historical than glorifying, but it evokes different emotions (more negative if you know the history). It is worth visiting to understand part of the complex history of Georgia and the USSR. An unusual and controversial place. The exhibition tells the story of Stalin’s life, featuring his personal train carriage and the small house where he was born. The atmosphere feels more historical than glorifying, yet it leaves mixed emotions (mostly negative if one knows history). Worth a visit to understand a complex chapter of Georgian and Soviet history.

If you didn't find the USSR, then it's just interesting to know that Stalin lived modestly enough, it's interesting to look at the life of the party leader, there was no luck with the guide, the woman spoke sadly and quietly, the English colleague could not be silenced. We waited sooo long for the group, we lost almost an hour there, saying well, it will be in 15 minutes. In general, everything depends on the guide, colleagues have a great impression of the museum, they were told it was interesting, we were not....

It's a very interesting place, great both externally and internally. interesting expositions, house, train, exhibition. There is only one thing, HOWEVER: there may be two or three excursions in different languages in the hall (while some events are told differently (Russian and English versions differ (probably the conjuncture)))

Russian Russian is an excellent museum and a wonderful tour, even if you omit the facts, the guide is extremely offended by the Russians, either since the time, as Georgians believe, of the Soviet occupation, or since 2008 it is unclear. However, the mass of facts about Stalin, his house, which he rented with his mother, and the table at which decisions were made in the Kremlin cause a feeling of enthusiasm and confusion. The territory is beautiful, a beautiful park, but the lack of cafes and restaurants near the museum was confusing. There are a couple of mediocre places where people don't even speak Russian, although 80% of the museum's visitors are Russian speakers. In general, I recommend everyone to visit Gori and this museum to plunge into the time of Comrade Stalin and listen to an interesting tour, which is included in the ticket price.

The dream of visiting the museum of I.V. Stalin has come true. The cost of tickets and excursions is budgetary. A wonderful Guide, Larisa Alexandrovna K. (I'm afraid to misspell my last name). He tells a very interesting story without extreme, radical assessments, answers questions very correctly. We visited the carriage of I.V. Stalin, touched the history, in a word. I recommend everyone to "go to Gori. There are other ancient monuments there. I will definitely come back here.

We stopped by after the tour in the evening, unfortunately the museum itself was already closed and we looked at what is on the territory. It is very interesting that the house in which Stalin was born has been preserved, and we also saw the armored carriage with our own eyes. In general, I understood from many statements that in Georgia, especially the older generation, Stalin is loved and respected, but in any case, this is history and it was interesting to touch in some way.

The tour turned out to be very informative. On the one hand, the guide broadcast in Russian everything about Stalin's life in sufficient detail, on the other hand, it followed from the remarks of the guide that she knew history mediocre, and that in general the positive achievements of Georgia as part of the USSR were no longer remembered. The nook on the ground floor on the right is not a gateway at all. To a parallel group, a guide in English delivers information to guests from Europe that has nothing to do with Stalin's personality.

To begin with, everything is peculiar in Georgia. It reminds me of zero Russia. But everything looks good. The husbands are not big in appearance, but there is something to see inside and the Russian-speaking guides will help you with this and tell you everything. The prices are reasonable, and the tour is interesting for those who want to hear another version about Stalin. Its own story, its own view.

The house of the Leader's parents on the territory of the museum in Gori. It is a very informative exhibition, with many original objects and things. There is an armored carriage on the premises. There is a good cafe with khinkali and wine on the square nearby. Everything is delicious and inexpensive. There are buses running. We took a taxi for GEL 150 in October.

Museums in Georgia are a separate poem, since we stopped at the I.V. Stalin Museum on the way to Borjomi, due to limited time resources, we did not get on the tour, but we walked around the territory and managed to feel the greatness of the personality of the leader and the tribute of respect from all the people who inhabit and visit the beautiful country. The house where Joseph Vissarionovich was born and lived, of course, only as an exhibit, they could not see anything inside. One can only guess and guess what the life of the little leader was like, I am sure that you can see a lot in the museum and travel back to that era for a while. Everything is very beautiful, clean, lots of flowers and trees. It is necessary to go there, however, you will have to get to Gori by bus or taxi. We are lucky that our driver, Alex, lives in this city and told us a lot during his stay there, the tour was just great.

An important and necessary event. History is the foundation of the entire state and is very useful for all residents. The museum itself is very large, with guided tours in different languages. The exhibition covers all stages of life. I really liked it, but as it turned out very little, I wanted to listen to even more facts from life.

A wonderful experience! The only thing that bothered me was probably the dissemination of various myths by the guide. For example, that on Stalin's orders a plane with a miraculous icon flew around Moscow, that Lenin was against Stalin's appointment, etc. But the museum itself is beautiful, with many interesting exhibits.

The museum itself is not bad, but the tour is terrible: it feels like a conveyor belt. The guide talked very quickly, without a soul, about abrupt moments from Stalin's life. Actually, money is being made. The difference with the museums in Russia, where I was, is enormous, we were in Boldino, in the Shishkin Museum in Yelabuga, everything is very sincere, there is no such thing here.

The ticket was sold, the guide was not given, although the guide is included in the ticket. If you want to return the tickets, you were not accepted. The money was not returned. 09/14/2024 at about 15:00 we were at the museum. The cashier behaved abominably. The museum staff treats Russians catastrophically negatively, although they accept money for tickets. Russian Russians, dear Georgians, if you don't like Russians so much, close your borders and cook in your own house. No. You won't have to be nervous at the sight of a Russian person. It seems that you offer your service and services, but you offer them in such a way that you do not want to return at all and do not want to recommend anyone. Think again how you behave, it's your money!

There are a lot of photos and documents in the museum, if you study all this, take time! There is a death mask of Stalin, like in a mausoleum. There are many paintings depicting the former leader of the peoples. One hall is dedicated to the gifts of the grateful Soviet people to Comrade Stalin There is a government car in the courtyard, to get into it, even if you bought a ticket, you need to tell the guards when leaving the museum building that you have tickets to the car, then they will open for you. A double impression. It is clear that they were built on a grand scale under the Soviets. But now the museum is clearly in need of renovation. Of course, there is no comparison with Russian federal museums. And so atmospheric. The room was opened there for some reason about the 08.08.08 war. There is no souvenir. Stalin is definitely not on them. But it is absolutely necessary to visit the Stalin Museum in Gori once in a lifetime.

A very important museum! It is required to visit. Of course, not everyone understands what Stalin really did. The museum is amazing because it was built in the Soviet years. But one thing is that those who hate Russians and Stalin work there. In October, a female tour organizer at the museum, originally from South Ossetia, refused to give us a guide! She refused to talk to us! I sent it to Russia from Georgia! It was sad, unpleasant. Many people in my group said they would never set foot in Georgia again. Draw your own conclusions... Meanwhile, the guide was a pleasant, reserved woman. That is, there is a different attitude, of course.
