Saint-Severin Church is located in the Latin Quarter, on Rue des Prétres-Saint-Severin. The church, whose construction began in the 13th century, seemed magnificent: strict architectural appearance, majestic and modest interior decoration, including stained glass windows of the 15th century, located in the central window of the western facade. The name of the church was given by the hermit monk Saint Severin, Saint Severin, who lived in Paris in the sixth century...

A flaming Gothic church in the Latin Quarter. The 1412 Macée bell, the oldest bell in Paris, is located here. Interestingly, the church was first built, and then 120 years later it was rebuilt after the Hundred Years' War using the proceeds from the sale of indulgences organized by Popes Clement the Sixth and Calixtus the Third.

We visited St. Severin's Church in Paris with a guide. Unfortunately, they didn't get inside, because the funeral and service were taking place there. There is a very beautiful large cathedral building outside. It was built around the XV century. Very beautiful stained glass windows. We will try to visit Paris next time.

The Church of Saint-Severin in Paris, or the Church of Saint Severin, is located in the heart of the Latin Quarter and is one of the oldest surviving parish churches on the left bank of the Seine. Its history dates back to the early Middle Ages, when a small chapel was built on this site in honor of Saint Severin, a hermit who lived here in the 6th century. Since then, the first church has been built here. The current building mainly dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries and is an outstanding example of Parisian school Gothic architecture. The church was rebuilt several times after fires and destruction, especially in the 12th and 15th centuries, as a result of which it combined elements of early and late Gothic. One of the most impressive architectural features is the graceful column in the choir hall, which resembles a curved trunk and symbolizes the Tree of Life. The church also has elegant stained glass windows made in both medieval and modern 20th century styles. The church is famous not only for its architecture, but also for its spiritual atmosphere: for centuries, students and scientists from the Latin Quarter have worshipped here, and the organ of St. Severin's Church is considered one of the best in Paris and is regularly used for concerts. The church has well-preserved authentic features of Gothic Paris, almost untouched by time. It's like traveling back in time - walking under the arches, looking at the darkened columns, especially when evening comes and you find yourself away from the noisy city life.

It's a very beautiful cathedral. On Catholic Easter, they attended the service and communion. Sunk into the soul

It's small and very cozy. The twisted columns seem to be singing to the sounds of an organ.
