The architectural complex of the Kosh Madrasah: a unique ensemble of Bukhara
Kosh Madrasah is an outstanding architectural complex in Bukhara, consisting of two madrasahs built opposite each other. The name "Kosh" translates as "pair", which emphasizes their symmetrical arrangement. The complex was created in the Sheibanid era and still retains the atmosphere of greatness of the past. 🌟
The first madrasah, the Modarikhon Madrasah, was built in the middle of the XVI century and dedicated to the mother of ruler Abdullah II. Its facade is decorated with complex mosaics with geometric and floral ornaments, creating a unique impression. This building surprises with its elegance and the skill of oriental architects. 🎨
The second madrasah, Abdullakhan II, was built a little later and is distinguished by a more strict, but no less elegant design. It served as an educational center where students studied theology, philosophy and natural sciences. This place reflects the spirit of an era when knowledge was valued on a par with wealth. 📚
The Kosh Madrasah complex is unique in that it represents a rare example of the architectural symmetry of Central Asia. Visiting this place is an opportunity to touch the heritage of the past, enjoy the beauty of oriental architecture and feel the special atmosphere of the ancient city. 🕌

This ensemble is not as interesting as the central madrasahs of Bukhara. It is located away from the tourist center, outside of Shahristan, few tourists get here. One madrasah is closed, and the other houses a center for artisans. Admission is free

I love the city of Samarkand, how clean the city is an example to everyone, I was there, it is a European city in Uzbekistan, the air is clean, the people are friendly, I advise everyone to start tourism from this city!

Kosh madrasah, which means "double" or "paired" madrasah in Persian, includes a complex of two buildings — madrasah Madori Khan and madrasah Abdullahan. These two madrasahs form a kosh, a traditional architectural ensemble of Central Asia, consisting of two buildings located on the same axis and facing each other. During our visit, and maybe most of the time - the whole complex, designed for people to live in it, pray, study - is empty. And not empty - but somehow "intentionally empty".

A chic ensemble: a mosque, a madrasah and a minaret. Greets you at the entrance to the old town. You can take a guided tour or listen to free passing. Very beautiful evening lighting. I recommend taking a walk around the ensemble in the evening.

The ensemble is under reconstruction, part of it was closed, you can't go inside, it looks beautiful externally, the architecture of the east several centuries ago immediately stands out, there are practically no people to meet on the square, so you can safely take a picture

The place is interesting, but small (if you go inside), so it takes about 30 minutes.

It's a pity such sights,
that's why such a beautiful place is abandoned, but someone needs to mock this city so much.I advise you to visit a very beautiful place.

A much underestimated architectural monument. There are usually very few tourists, but in vain - inside the madrasah there is a very aesthetic, atmospheric courtyard with cells-hujras.

Two madrasahs opposite each other. Buildings of the 16th century. Beautiful architecture, but in disrepair, unfortunately, like a lot of things in Bukhara. Things are better in Samarkand.

It is a very beautiful and unusual place. I think others will agree with me. Alas, many people do not know about this place.
