I bought a ticket to Oranienbaum in the automatic desk in the station, obliterated it and went through the turnstile. Then, the controller on the train said my ticket was invalid and made my buy a new one, with a fine.

The ticket machines were only russian and the ticket sales counter people were not able to speak english... Was difficult. The station itself was nice shadowed on a hot day. We liked to wait there. A nice museum is nearby. The 55 Rubles ice cream from McDonalds now Totchka was yummie. Not so nice, not being able to see in advance the correct peron.

Was a bit taken aback by the security measures but very happy to not have to brush up on my machete fighting skills (like in Europe). The lack of homeless people was a bit surprising, as was the contents of the book store (loved it!) !!
