On September 24, 1904, the Museum of Occupational Injury Prevention (fr. Musée de la prévention des accidents du travail et d'hygiène industrielle) was opened in Paris at the Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (CNAM). The museum still exists today. The narration of Umberto Eco's novel "Foucault's Pendulum" begins and ends in the museum. It is divided into 7 main sections: instruments (scientific and measuring), materials, construction, mechanics, transport, energy and communications.
