Very compact and well-maintained city of Cesis. The castle has been partially restored and I recommend visiting it to those who want to soak up the Gothic of the Middle Ages.

It's beautiful, but the entrance to the ruins of the castle is paid. Various souvenirs are sold in the shops, and a view of the Latvian Mountains opens from the observation deck.
