My name is Irina (Pantheon tour operator, department for work with individuals).
During my trip to Oman, I had the opportunity to visit the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. It is the main mosque in the entire sultanate.
In the first year of his reign, Sultan Qaboos decided to build a large and beautiful temple. He personally paid all the expenses.
The mosque was built in 2001, it took 6.5 years. The interior used white and gray marble, as well as gilded mosaics.
The main attraction is the chandelier weighing 8 tons, which is completely made of Swaroski crystal.
I was also impressed by the Persian carpet in the main hall weighing more than 20 tons. It was woven from over 50 pieces and then joined into one. The carpet was spread for several months.
The area around the mosque is a large park area: flowers, trees, shrubs. It's really nice to be here.
Important:
When visiting the temple, women should wear completely closed clothes, open shoulders, neck, and legs are not allowed. Also take a handkerchief with you.
Men should wear trousers or jeans. A shirt or T-shirt is on top. Shorts are not allowed.
You can not wear shoes in the temple, you can leave them in one of the cells. It's not worth worrying about safety, and the floor is clean everywhere, I was wearing white socks, they didn't get dirty.

A large mosque, the territory is beautiful. But if you have been to the Abu Dhabi Mosque, then the Qaboos Mosque will not surprise or interest you. The passage is free - it's super. At the entrance, you need to be ready for a thorough clothing inspection.

The splendor of the white color. Beauty and grace! And a good guide, too.
