More than once, passing by, I wondered what kind of palace it was. As a result, it turned out that this station is quite old (1908, built by the Germans), now under reconstruction. As of now, reconstruction is underway, but it is already coming to an end (the tracks are being updated, the platforms are already kind of like). While they are not allowed inside, there is a good view from the water. The easiest way to get there is by Kadikoy metro (M4), but, as already mentioned, the view from the water is better - respectively, by ferry to the pier of the same name.

As of May 2025, the station is still under reconstruction, the building is very beautiful and fundamental. There is already a pier, so I think ferries will come here later.

Now the station building is completely covered with scaffolding, and the former beauty is not visible (as is the main station in Istanbul, from where the Orient Express departs.

As of October 2024 (pain, sadness), the object is still under restoration, which does not negate its monumentality and beauty.

The Haidarpasha Railway Station was built in 1906. It was started in the time of Abdulhamid and completed in 1908. The station, built by a German company, was built in. It is named after Haidar Pasha, one of Selim's pashas. The purpose of the construction was considered to be the starting point of the Istanbul Baghdad railway line. In the last period of the Ottoman Empire, the Hejaz railway service began. The State Railways of the Republic of Turkey are the main station. I advise everyone

Gaidar Pasha railway station is simply deafening in its scope, splendor and perfection of Istanbul railway station, especially since it was built at the very beginning of the XX century. I especially liked the very convenient turntables at the ticket offices, which do not allow to interfere with the purchase of tickets. The steam locomotive "TCDD Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devlet Demiryolları" No. 23004 installed as a monument does not correspond at all to the scope of the station. It is from an earlier era of the 1890s, when the Turks successfully built railways to Ankara 449 versts and Konya 450 versts without the help of the Germans. In memory of the German scale of Kaiser Wilhelm II, it would be worth putting an appropriate steam locomotive. In 1906 it was the "Preußische S 6". However, the Germans failed the Baghdad road, so Gaidarpasha is facing a miracle from the 1890s. If the Turks had not succumbed to the persuasions of the Germans, then by the First World War they could have built a railway to Basra themselves, and not only to Aleppo.
