I recommend that you definitely visit the Catholic Church of St. Wojciech from the outside and, if possible, go inside the Church. St. Wojciech's Church was built in 1908-1912 in the neo-Romanesque style with donations from German manufacturers. Until the end of World War II, the church was Protestant and belonged to the Consistory of the Evangelical Augsburg Church. In 1945, he converted to the Roman Catholic Church, consecrated in honor of St. Wojciech. Author. Jan Wende, Lodz architect. The church fascinates with its beauty and monumental appearance. Thick red brick walls, rounded arches, small window openings, stepways, beautiful turrets, and white exterior decor create the impression that this is not a church, but a fabulous castle or fortress. A street clock is installed on the upper tower on four sides. Once inside the Church, one is struck and surprised by the huge interior space, which is difficult to even imagine from the outside. The interior of the Church, the organ, the chandelier and the stained glass windows enchant with their beauty. Six stained glass windows were made in 1957, one of them depicts Saint Wojciech. The Church of St. Wojciech is free to visit, admission is free, but as in any religious object there are special places for voluntary donations for the maintenance of the Temple. Photography is allowed, which is very important for tourists.
