A private museum in the center of Paris. Quiet without crowds of tourists. The museum was created in the private home of Edouard Andre (1833-1894) and Neli Jacquemart (1841-1912) to showcase the works of art they had collected throughout their lives. The museum's collection includes works by masters of the Italian Renaissance, the French school of fine arts of the XVIII century and Flemish masters.

The Jacquemart-Andre Museum, located on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris, is one of the exquisite private mansions of the 19th century, turned into a museum. It was built in 1869 by the order of Eduard Andre, a wealthy banker and art collector. Eduard Andre devoted his life to creating a luxurious home where every detail — from architecture to furniture — reflected the taste and sophistication of the era. In 1872, he met the artist Neli Jacquemart, who later became his wife and colleague in the collecting business. Together, they spent years traveling through Italy and other European countries, amassing an outstanding art collection, including Renaissance masterpieces, Flemish and French paintings, rare sculptures, furniture and tapestries. After Edouard's death in 1894, Neli Jacquemart continued their common cause, preserving the house in the form in which they created it. According to her will, after her death in 1912, the mansion and collection were transferred to the Institut de France so that the house would become a museum open to the public. Since then, the Musée Jacquemart-André has allowed visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of aristocratic Paris at the end of the 19th century, preserving not only unique works of art, but also the authentic luxurious, homely atmosphere of that era. The Italian gallery with works by Botticelli, Mantegna and Bellini, as well as the winter garden with a magnificent glass roof, creating a sense of light and space, are particularly admired. There is a pleasant restaurant at the museum, breakfast is served from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., lunch and dinner are also served, but only until 8 p.m. One of the disadvantages: the ordered freshly squeezed juice was slightly diluted with water. The water for brewing tea was served at a low temperature, which is not suitable for brewing black tea. Otherwise, the service in the restaurant is not bad, as are the desserts.

It is very interesting, the palace is large, but many pavillions were closed during our visit. I recommend visiting the army Museum to see everything, plan for 3 hours in time...
