The most important event in history happened, of course, in 1483, when the son of Zahiriddin Muhammad, who went down in history as Babur, which means Tiger, was born into the family of the Fergana emir. On his father's side he was a Timurid, and on his mother's side he was a Genghisid, a descendant of Yunus Khan from Moghulistan. Even in his youth, he dreamed of reviving the Timurid Turan, but after ascending the emir's throne, he encountered the older and more experienced khan of the nomadic Uzbeks, Sheibani, got involved in an endless war with him, in which he took Samarkand three times and flew out with nothing, and eventually gave up on Turkestan and left in 1514 to conquer India, where his descendants, called the Great Moghuls, ruled until 1857, when they were replaced not only de facto, but also de jure by the English Queen.
