One of the most historic bazaars in Tashkent. People are very loyal. You can find bread, milk products and other foods. Suggest to all tourists to visit at least once.

It was very popular bazar when they sold uzbek kaymak and patir. But now bazar has been removed and the it seems to me that original products has been changed... too expensive and not tasty as before

Chigatai Bazaar is a place where traditions do not play a role, but live Chigatai is not just a bazaar, it is a portal to the real Tashkent. Everything here is as authentic as possible: noisy, lively, sometimes chaotic and very real. No glossy shop windows, just life as it is. The most unexpected and touching thing is the grandmothers at the barbecue, who calmly roast shish kebab as if they have been doing it for 50 years (spoiler: most likely, they are). You look and you realize — here it is, the local flavor, without filters and staging. To be honest, the taste of the dishes is not "wow" or gastronomic ecstasy, but delicious, satisfying and homely. People come here not for Michelin stars, but for the atmosphere. Prices, by the way, are like in a regular cafe — without the tourist "oh, you're a guest." After the last renovation, the bazaar has become really beautiful: clean, tidy, pleasant to walk and look at the details. The old spirit was preserved, and the appearance was upgraded — a rare and successful upgrade. If you are a foreigner, you should definitely go at least once. To understand the city, the people, and why Tashkent is not just about shopping malls and scheduled pilaf. Chigatai is not trying to please. And that's what makes him tick.

After the reconstruction, Chigatai Bazaar was transformed. The decor is decorated with a national retro flavor. He works mostly in the morning. Choice: homemade dairy products, various pastries, pancakes, samsa. The assortment of tortillas and patties is the best in Tashkent.

It became very beautiful after the renovation, but the sellers are still the same - I advise you to bargain before you buy. Bread and other products are very tasty. You can easily take it as a visit or as a gift. Recently, we took kal patir for 25 thousand and samsa with pumpkin for 6 thousand/piece.

Everyone says Chigatai Chigatai, but I haven't seen such a wow. The biggest problem with parking at the moment. Prices are a little too high for all goods (bread, kaymak, dishes, etc.) Kaymak is so-so, not as super-chic as everyone praises it. But you can stop by and shop once.

In the recent past, the bazaar was very popular among residents of Tashkent and guests of the capital. It has gained popularity due to the national tortillas, patyrs, dishes, dairy products and pastries. Currently, work is underway on the reconstruction of the bazaar and the entire adjacent street, which is planned to become a place with numerous round-the-clock art cafes and leisure facilities for the public and tourists.

You need to buy dairy products at Kukcha-Aktepa, and at Chigatai bazaar - khanum, and homemade samsa and there are also different types of tortillas, from puff pastry, to patyr-non of different sizes. there are also simple tortillas (oddiy-non_) of high quality , too. previously, I would recommend a barbecue there, but when there is a place called "SHURPA No. 1" nearby where they make amazing shish kebab and shurpa.... this old bazaar (it's 100 years old) for Khanum and hasyp

Oh, this little bazaar is a reminder of old Tashkent. If you want to understand the meaning of the oriental bazaar, stay there for half an hour, find a seller who is pleasant to you and talk about this and that. I was there recently, in March 2023, I remembered the bazaar of my childhood. There are not many buyers, there are no crowds like in other places. They stop there for delicious bread and cream, in Uzbek it's patir and kaymok. You can also have a snack with Uzbek fast food.
