Here is my honest review of the Zeferan Restaurant in Istanbul (yes, I had to take my mind off other things for this). What you liked The restaurant is located on the top floor of the AJWA Sultanahmet Hotel in Sultanahmet district, offering panoramic views of the old town and the Sea of Marmara. The cuisine is focused on Azerbaijani tastes with elements of Turkish and general regional gastronomy: meat, rice, herbs, spices — that makes me happy. The service gets good reviews: attentive staff, creating the feeling that your visit is an event, and not just "another tourist." Atmosphere: the interior and the view are the kind that you can pay a little extra for (if you're in the mood for a "special evening"). Things to consider Prices are above average. The menu shows that you will have to pay seriously for some items. If the budget is limited, this is a fact. If you are looking for "just eat fast and cheap", then this is not about Zeferan. It's about experience. Some reviews mention that although the view and service are excellent, the general feeling of "the higher the price, the higher the expectation" is not always fully justified. The menu is very meat/heavy oriented. If you want a light vegetarian option, there is a choice, but not an impressive one. My recommendations It is better to book a table in advance (due to the location and view). Come for dinner or sunset — the view and atmosphere will be stronger. Order a couple of Azerbaijani specialties (for example, from the menu: rice with meat, special kebabs) + a couple of drinks — it will give the feeling of "I was here and it was worth it." If you want something more budget-friendly or a quick translation of "ate and left", you can choose another option.

The restaurant, like the hotel, is simply on top. Perfect service. The chef comes out to the guests and sometimes even makes free compliments from himself. Such as Napoleon's personally made cake or tea according to his recipe. I highly recommend going there. The view there is simply divine)

Beautiful view of the Bosphorus from the window, quiet (there is no musical accompaniment at all) Unreasonably expensive, 2 hot dishes and a salad without drinks cost 8000 rubles. It tastes good, but nothing special, about the same as in local restaurants. The restaurant is non-alcoholic. I won't go any more, and I'd rather not recommend it than recommend it.

Today we visited this restaurant. We were very satisfied. The chef came out to us himself, offered us a special menu, which completely satisfied us. The chef from the restaurant offered us two salads, everything was very tasty. The staff of this institution is very responsive, they speak English perfectly. I recommend this institution to everyone.

Delicious, beautiful view, the service itself is not bad, but in the end they tried to cheat. We included in the bill the water that we did not order (125 lire water for a minute), and a 10% service fee, which was not mentioned in the menu. They called the administrator to fix it. I crossed out the water, we decided to pay for the service instead of a tip. Be careful, they profit from ignorance: there should be no water or collection in the bill.

It took a long time to choose this place, because there was no more strength to eat what is served in local restaurants and cafes. We chose it carefully, we were looking forward to it. They met us at the reception, escorted us to the elevator, no questions asked. The restaurant is doroho-bohato by local standards, a natural calm atmosphere and silence, because there were no people there, and those who were looked at the menu for a long time and left. The views of the embankment did not cause delight, the slums are haunted wherever you are in the city. Silently and diligently we looked at the Turkish menu, somehow translated with a Google translator, I asked for a couple of minutes to order, the waiter tsked, sighed heavily and rolled his eyes. Soup (I don't remember the name), something very light liquid, small balls of dough float on the bottom, it's not tasty, the impression is that a hot mug was diluted with Maggie. They were served in a deep cup, I don't know the name, in Uzbek restaurants deep cups with blue patterns are national. The edges of the cup were broken, when asked what it was, the waiter was offended and said that this dish is more than 100 years old! and this is their story, while there are white European dishes on the tables purely for the entourage, apparently. Vinaigrette - potatoes and carrots, the rest of the ingredients in a minimal composition. We didn't finish it. The second course is grilled meat with vegetables, usually, but we ate everything. They asked for an invoice, I won't specify the amount, they were waiting for change, no one even looked at us, new guests came in and all attention was focused on them. An employee walks around the restaurant and whistles something cheerfully, of course, such a geshaft. They got up and left, neither hello nor goodbye... Take tea or coffee like all normal people and enjoy the views of the Istanbul red tiles)) Oh yes, the compliment from the chef (sauces + crackers) was delicious by the way. Have a nice time.

We stayed at the hotel during our stay in Istanbul, where this wonderful restaurant with panoramic views of the Bosphorus is located! Wonderful breakfasts and no less wonderful and delicious dinners! The chef comes out to the visitors and is interested in the impressions of the food and service! The staff is trying very hard! After dinner, we were treated to free tea and baklava! I recommend this wonderful restaurant to everyone!

The place, the ambience, the taste, the menu were really good. The employees are amazing. The collections at the entrance, the magnificence of the embroideries in the restaurant section were very good.

In general, everything is fine, but water was included in the bill, which was not ordered + service was added to the bill. When we started asking questions and protesting, the staff went and counted everything. For information: about 600 rubles were charged for water....

Gorgeous view) Their drinks are something wonderful ❤ A very tasty non-alcoholic restaurant. We lived in this hotel - everything is on the level: service, food, the building itself is very authentic. There is a smoking room on the top floor with a toilet and a beautiful view. I don't smoke- but I think smokers will check it out))

What I liked. Very, very beautiful view of Istanbul and the Marmara Sea. The friendly staff of the hotel itself, who escorted us to the elevator to the restaurant. Good food, but without something particularly outstanding against the background of the general high culinary level of Istanbul. Good, solid service (the waiters looked down on us a lot at first, but then everything was fine) and the serving of dishes. A rich interior. What I didn't like. For some reason, the sturgeon kebab was cooked for a very long time. The fried chicken was too dry. Features. Alcohol is not served.

Great view and food. We were in December, so unfortunately the soft transparent curtains were lowered (for warmth) which of course somewhat distorted the view
