Earlier, in the same place where Francesco's soldier of fortune laid his stronghold, there was already a castle that belonged to the ancient Milanese Visconti family, no match for the upstarts of Sforza. This fortification was literally demolished by freedom-loving townspeople in the 14th century. But the holy place is never empty, a new dynasty of rulers and a new castle appeared, which was actively rebuilt. The great Leonardo applied his genius abilities to architecture and fort fixation here, the castle became almost impregnable. In the New Napoleonic era, the castle was again wanted to be demolished, but, fortunately, it worked out. Now there is a rare library and wonderful museum exhibitions. The museum was robbed during an exhibition not so long ago. In its own way, it is also a high assessment :) Russians are also interested in the castle because it is not much older than the Moscow Kremlin, you can clearly imagine what the Moscow princes took as a model for their order, which architects from the North could have called at the end of the 15th century. And Milan, along with the castle, was taken by Suvorov during his campaign.
