Qasr Al Hosn Fortress (UAE, Abu Dhabi) is a unique place that is a symbol of the history of the Emirates. It was originally a watchtower at the end of the 18th century, then a small fortress, which grew to a fort, and in the 50s of the last century became the first residence of Sheikh Zayed. Here he lived with his family and led the state. Now a museum has been opened in the White Fort, which tells about the history of the emirate and the rule of the legendary sheikh. The exhibits and photographs are accompanied everywhere by plaques with texts in Arabic and English. The inspection takes place in comfortable conditions: despite the heat, it is cool. When buying a ticket, visitors are given a bottle of water. The Qasr al Hosn fortress included more and more administrative functions as Abu Dhabi developed. They came here for permits, licenses and travel documents, and police forces were set up here. It can be said that the Qasr al Hosn fortress is the foundation of statehood. The Al-Husn Palace is considered one of the most important historical sights of the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Because of the color of the walls surrounding the central courtyard, it is popularly called the "White Fort". Originally built as a defensive structure, the palace has become a living archive and museum of UAE history. The main legend related to the origin of the toponym Abu Dhabi (Arabic for "father of the gazelle") refers to a water source found by chance in the desert during a gazelle hunt. It was the same spring around which the Al-Husn Palace was later built.

The fortress is clearly recreated, it looks like a C-minus, it absolutely does not give the impression of a historical building, it looks like the scenery for cheap movies. Not a sketch, but I'm telling you exactly what it looks like and nothing more. In general, if you walk nearby, then there is no question, there is a fashionable location nearby, it's the most important thing to take a picture, but if you definitely shouldn't go from afar for this.

Nicely. Interesting. Although it is a new model based on old buildings, but among the skyscrapers it really looks like an oasis. I would also like to mention the more than helpful staff. Our cards do not work, and payment for visits is only by bank transfer, they do not accept cash. So the employee paid for his tickets with a card (he suggested this option himself), we handed him the cash. Kind and helpful people. Thanks!

We haven't been to the castle. But the territory itself and the square are interesting. Everything is decorated and well-maintained at a high level. Stalls, bins, and fast food. Clear. It feels like you're in a large square, surrounded by glass and concrete skyscrapers on four sides.

The fort itself is represented by towers and walls, where you enter a room and there is a small exposition. But there is a festival nearby with small stalls, folk music and food.
