The National Monument of the Ascension (the official name is the Monument to Ataturk). It was built in 1964 on donations from the residents of Antalya. The project was created by Turkish sculptor Huseyn Gezer. The bronze monument is 6 meters high and weighs 12 tons. The base is a concrete shell with several levels that symbolize the stages of Turkey's struggle for independence. Significant dates are carved on the base, starting from May 19, 1919, the day when Ataturk landed in Samsun, which marked the beginning of the War of Independence. The central figure is an equestrian statue of Ataturk, depicted on a prancing horse. He is flanked by a boy and a girl who represent the youth of the nation and the future entrusted to them. The monument is a symbol of Turkish nationalism, the legacy of the founder of the Republic and the city's connection with the modern Turkish state.

This is a magnificent monument to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic. The 6 m high monument, made of bronze, was erected in 1964 with donations from the residents of Antalya. A group of young people symbolizes the future of the country, and a rearing horse symbolizes the desire for independence.
