Stadsskogen (Urban Forest) is an extensive forest park in the west of Uppsala, located among residential areas. It is part of a nature reserve (naturreservat) Hogadalen is Nesten. There are many different trails (including horseback riding trails), and there are picnic areas. One of the eight Linnean trails (routes developed by Carl Linnaeus for practical classes with students) runs through the forest - the Gottsund Trail. The reserve was established in 2005 (cutting down trees and mining stone were banned even earlier - in 1916).

A very nice, clean and picturesque forest park, located near the center of Uppsala. You can easily get there by car. A great place to walk, especially in summer
