Berlin’s central station is very nice. It has lots of platforms for trains going everywhere in and around Germany. It has a nice bakery on the ground floor, interesting elevators, and a McDonald’s on the first basement.

a huge multi-level train station made of glass and steel. The personification of the future! There is a bus from Tegel Airport to the train station. Here we bought tickets to Bad Einheusen via Hanover on the ICE express (140 euros for two in one direction), got lost a bit in search of the right platform, but still managed to catch the train. There are good hotels near the train station, and we stopped at one of them on the way back. By the way, I do not recommend intercity IC trains (on the way back I decided to save 10 euros, as a result we traveled 1 hour longer, and the comfort was much less). The train station itself is very conveniently designed for use (of course, if you don't expect to be here for several hours). It is located in the center, easy to reach the airport, near the hotel, through the Spree in 5 minutes walk - the Reichstag. The train station is a symbol of German practicality, although, as it turned out, trains are delayed in Germany.
