The monument to Aala Tokombayev in Bishkek was erected on Abdrakhmanov Street south of the Museum of Art, opposite the Opera and Ballet Theater.
Aaly Tokombayev (November 7, 1904 — June 19, 1988) was a Soviet Kyrgyz writer and poet. People's Poet of the Kyrgyz SSR (1945), academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR (1954), Hero of Socialist Labor (1974). One of the founders of Kyrgyz literature.
Thanks to Aaly Tokombayev, various genres of poetry have entered literary use: propaganda marches, epistles, sonnets, elegies, satire. He developed the genre of the poem and was the creator of the most complex epic form — the novel in verse.
One of the streets of Bishkek is named after the writer.
The plaque with information about the poet has burned out and needs to be replaced.
