The Alley of Heroes in Bobruisk is a part of the memorial complex on Victory Square, dedicated to the memory of the natives and residents of the city who showed heroism during the Great Patriotic War. It was opened on June 28, 2009, to mark the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the city (June 29, 1944) and consists of a series of red granite slabs engraved with the names of 18 Heroes of the Soviet Union and one full Knight of the Order of Glory. The alley symbolically connects personal exploits with the collective memory of the city: the first slab depicts a red banner symbolizing victory and heroism, and subsequent slabs contain the names of famous Bobruisk residents who participated in the battles or the liberation of the city. The Alley of Heroes serves as a place for solemn flower laying, commemorative events on May 9 and other dates related to the military history of Bobruisk, and visually connects the memory of the war heroes with other monuments on the square, including a stele with a memorial sign, a memorial stone to victims of repression and a monument to the T‑34 tank.
