The Altyn-Emel Nature Reserve is a steppe plateau surrounded by mountains. Those who have been on safari in Kenya or Tanzania will not be surprised by this, but we were delighted with the number of free and undeterred animals: hares, white-bellied goats (probably geirans) flocks of partridges, some lazy birds that walk, ground squirrels (or not them, but similar), fluffy rodents of all colors and degrees of tail. And eagles soar above all this, soaring into the sky right from under your feet. And then a peak appears on the horizon, shining in the sun. It is a very beautiful and picturesque place. If you are going to leave Almaty, you need to leave as early as possible. Since you can see the sights until 19.00. It should also be borne in mind that when leaving the paved road in the direction of the Singing Dune, you will drive 44 km along the ridge, the same road to the 700-year-old willow and to the Aktau mountains (to the mountains, too, about 40 km from the pointer). However, we drove a crossover and not awd, previously on a ford mondeo (not a little surprised those who came after us, asked how we got there in such a car) I will answer that everything is OK. But everyone decides for themselves. When you go to see willow, if you ask the caretakers, they will tell you where there is a well with radon water. It has warm water of 28C. The road itself from Saryozek to the village of Bassy (in this village, the administration where permits are purchased to visit the park) repaired most of it, it was in 2022 and the road was of course much worse. Starting from Saryozek, you will find beautiful landscapes with beautiful mountains and fields. We went in the spring and everything was in bloom. And of course the silence is amazing. It's so good to relax there. We stayed in a hotel in the village of Bassy, everything is very civil. The food was delicious. Therefore, it is undoubtedly necessary to come and visit these beautiful places, the main thing is to protect nature and not litter.
