Antalya Clock Tower is a beautiful historic landmark in the city center. It’s a great place for photos and a nice stop while walking around the old town.

The clock tower in Antalya insistently reminds you that time is ticking, even when you are on vacation. This tower is like a modest but proud guardian of the old city. It has been standing here since the Ottoman times, having seen more tourists than the local beach of grains of sand. They say it was built in honor of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, who apparently really wanted the guests of Antalya not to be late for excursions. Architecture: — A five-tiered stone structure that looks like it was assembled from an Ottoman Empire construction kit. — The clock is ticking properly, despite the fact that it is more than a hundred years old. Perhaps they are turned on by the ghost of a pedantic watchmaker. Surroundings: The tower is modestly nestled in the heart of the old town, surrounded by Souvenir shops selling everything from magnets to "real Ottoman" carpets (made, of course, in a nearby garage). — Cafes where tourists drink Turkish coffee, trying to understand why it is so bitter. — Street cats who consider the tower their personal observatory. — Tourists take photos against the background of the tower, but most often their pictures accidentally capture the KFC sign on the side. — Locals pass by without looking. For them, it's like a shopping mall for a Muscovite: historical, but not impressive. — Legends say that if the clock suddenly stops, the city will be engulfed in chaos. So far, they seem to be holding up thanks to Turkish coffee and the prayers of carpet dealers. The clock tower is like a grandmother's chest in the age of iPhones. It's worth a look if you've already eaten enough kebabs and bought all possible souvenirs. But don't expect a grandiose spectacle. This is not Hagia Sophia. Unless the watch shows you how much time you spent trying to bargain with a leather jacket seller.
