Del Teatro Greco is the number one tourist attraction in Taormina. The building is impressive and has an equally impressive history, the theater is more than 2,200 years old. It was built precisely as a theater by the Greeks, but according to the good old tradition, the Romans rebuilt it for gladiators, who destroyed it almost to the ground. Meanwhile, as everyone knows, the theater is currently being used for its intended purpose (in Greek, though, not in Roman), including as a venue for the annual Taormina Arte festival...
